What Guests Are Saying
Apgar Group Sites offers a peaceful and clean camping experience, with convenient access to essential amenities, nearby showers, and a lovely beach perfect for swimming after hikes. The site is spacious, close to the visitor center, and features friendly staff, though some guests noted the bathrooms could be improved and the campground can get crowded. The on-site pizza is highly praised for its freshness and quality, making it a great dining option after a day of exploration, despite being a bit pricey.

Friendly hosts and the site is inside the park. Shops , restaurant and visitors center is a short drive.
The bathroom is pretty old and shower facilities is limited and a bit dirty. It has free hot water though.

The location can’t be beat! Apgar is steps from lake McDonald and a Apgar downtown where you can find rentals, a small store, a restaurant and ice cream shop. Ideal for families! It’s also at the beginning to the road to the sun. An absolute must see!! The camp sites are clean and well cared for. Bathrooms are fully equipped they also Provide bear boxes, convenient trash bins and Fresh water access. The rangers are all amazing ! They were so helpful on site. We stayed for a week and I can’t wait to take a trip back soon!

We rented a group site E8 for our large group. The campground is beautiful with flushing toilets and sinks in the bathrooms. Loop A has a shower house with 3 showers. The vegetation is lovely and peaceful. We loved the camp host Don. He was very helpful and would ride around on his bike checking up on everyone. We had barely any Verizon cell service and it was a little better with ATT, but not enough to really use the internet. The visitor center is a nice walk down a wooded path. Apgar Village is adorable and we also rented some cabins for those in our group who didn't want to camp. We always do large family camping trips in the summer to a National Park. I think this was my favorite one so far! RV's with slides have to be careful because the roads are narrow and they have to park right off it in the group sites. I think they should also build more shower houses because there was usually a line with such a large campground sharing 3 showers.

The campsites were designed with privacy in mind. The staff are friendly, communicated well with my grandson who wore his ranger jr button with pride! Understanding as well! More than half of the party cancelled due to weather, a grouchy teenager parked where she was told not to. She was fortunate to only receive a warning and not a ticket. I was thankful for not receiving a fine. Facilities were clean. Just a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this location. Great Job Apgar Staff! ❤️

{"text"=>"Delicious pizza with a thick layer of cheese sitting on top a sturdy, crispy crust that has been baked brown for maximum flavor. Arguably a perfect pizza. After a day of hiking or rafting this pizza tastes amazing. Garlic knots had literal garlic chunks inside of baked bread twists.", "languageCode"=>"en"}
