The campground sites and restroom facilities are very well maintained. The host, Ed, is absolutely fantastic and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the park! We stayed in site 12, which backs up to Lake McDonald. While the road noise during the day was fairly noticeable, it was reasonably quiet after evening time rolled around! We would absolutely stay in Sprague Campground again!

I visit Sprague Creek 1-2X a summer. It’s the my favorite campground in park! It’s accessible, clean, right on the lake and the host is always so kind. I really appreciate it’s a smaller set up. Less noise, friendly neighbors.

Great little campground, highly recommend if you want something a little quieter. Beautiful views and right on the shore of the lake. Watch out for bears!

Love Sprague! Hate the reservation system. Multiple vacant sites every night despite sold-out status online. Still, if you can get in, the absence of RVs makes Sprague a more enjoyable camping experience all 'round. And, although van "campers" are permitted, they tend to respect the tent camping community by minimizing their door slamming and the use of their sliding doors during quiet hours. Road noise is, of course, a constant in the campground, but that's the price you pay for this convenient location. Personally, we still lament the removal of the sturdy grates over the fire-pits which makes cooking over the fire less efficient. Overall, Sprague is a great little campground.

Awesome campground right on the lake with lots of lake access points. Campsites were well maintained and clean. The deer love to walk through camp. The camp host Ed was beyond amazing during our stay there. He's got lots of information and a passion for the park. Thank you Ed for the conversation about the calmness of the lake, the curvature of the earth and the mirage over the water. There are no showers there, but maybe that might be a future upgrade?

Best campground I have ever stayed in, the views were spectacular. With it being on the shore of lake McDonald the sunsets were once in a lifetime. If you are staying in Glacier you need to stay here!

Sprague Creek Campground has multiple entry points on the east and west side of the park.
West Side
- West Entrance – From Columbia Falls, take Highway 2 east to the town of West Glacier (approximately 33 miles/53 km from Kalispell).
- West Entrance – From Browning, take Highway 2 west to the town of West Glacier.
East Side
- St. Mary Entrance – From Columbia Falls, take Highway 2 east to the town of Browning (approx. 83 miles/134 km). At the traffic circle, exit onto Hwy 89 north and continue for another 30 miles (48 km). Follow the signage to the St. Mary Visitor Center / Going-to-the-Sun Road.
- St. Mary Entrance – From Browning, take Highway 89 north to Going-to-the-Sun Road.
Sprague Creek Campground is accessible via Highway 2, which connects to the west entrance at West Glacier and the east entrance at St. Mary. Highway 89 also provides access from Browning to the St. Mary Entrance.

Policies & Rules
General
- RV Maximum Length in the Campground. The maximum size limit allowed for all vehicles as well as combinations of vehicles and towed units in Sprague Creek Campground is 21 feet in length (including bumpers) and/or 8 feet in width (including mirrors).
- Vehicle length limits along Going-to-the-Sun Road. Vehicle and vehicle combinations longer than 21 feet (6.4 m) or wider than 8 feet (2.4 m) including mirrors are prohibited between the Sun Point parking area and Avalanche Campground on Going-to-the-Sun Road.
- Generator use is prohibited at all times in this campground.
- Food Storage and Wildlife. Grizzly and black bears frequent the area; food storage regulations strictly enforced; when not in immediate use, all food, beverages, coolers, cooking utensils, pet food, or other attractants must be kept in a closed, hard-sided vehicle or secured in bear proof storage lockers near campground restrooms.
- The maximum length of stay is 14 days.
- Fire Rings Only. Camp sites contain fire rings but do not have fire grates for grilling/ food preparation.
- Hammocks. Hammocks must be hung over non vegetated areas using one inch straps or wider. Vegetation may not be trampled to access hammocks.
- Maximum Number of Tents. Campsites allow a maximum of 2 tents per site.
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood within the same county in which you plan to camp. Moving firewood is illegal in some states.
- Per 36 CFR 5.3, commercial business may not take place inside Glacier National Park. This includes RVs and trailers being delivered within Glacier's boundaries. Renters of these must drive them in themselves.
