Sprague Creek Campground offers a beautiful location right on Lake McDonald, with well-maintained sites and clean bathrooms. Campers appreciate the friendly host, Ed, who is knowledgeable and helpful. This review is actually of the Cut Bank Campground. (Registering for a site via the Recreation.gov app, I was directed to this Sprague Creek website.) I enjoyed my overnight stay at the Cut Bank Campground. The views were wonderful, especially just up the trail from the parking lot. If anything, too many fellow Americans were enjoying the campground. The night I stayed there, every site was occupied, so there was quite a bit of activity and noise. Still: I was in Glacier, so it wasn’t that bad!

Beautiful little campground right next to the lake. There is a little more highway noise than in other campgeounds but can be easily tuned out listening to the waves and birds. The camp host was amazing, had so much history of the park and area. Very cozy and intimate campground!

Wonderful small campground with quick access to the beach of Lake McDonald. Plan accordingly for hikes on the other side of the park. It took us two hours to get to Many Glacier so give yourself plenty of time. The camp host was very kind and informative. Plenty of space in bear boxes for everyone and the facilities were quite clean. Lots of access to fresh water as well.

Cut Bank is a lovely small campground with large sites and easy access to the trailhead. Be aware there is currently no water, so bring your own. Used the “scan and pay” successfully in the recreation.gov app even with no cell coverage—payment just confirmed later when coverage resumed.

This campground is in a beautiful spot but it's very close to going to the sun road, so there was a fair amount of traffic noise. As with many National Park campgrounds, the sites are small and close together.

#3 is a perfect campsite! Gorgeous views and just-remote-enough.
The pit toilet and trash area were well maintained.

Our only gripe is that it took several tries to get the QR code registration to work due (in part) to weak cell signals.

Would camp again!!!

Site is very close to the bathroom, the lights from the bathroom were shining into our tent a bit. Some noise from the road in the evening/morning, but not bad overnight. We both had sleep masks so the light wasn’t an issue. The camp host was very nice and there was a perfect swimming beach by the picnic area!

Unless you get a spot on the water you are really close to the going to the sun road and will hear all traffic.
