Everything was great, ranger was friendly, but no grill on the fire ring was bogus. Site 16 has its own nice path to the water though.

Stayed 2 nights, and loved the location of this campsite. The site is beautiful and directly on the beach with multiple paths leading to the shore. 10/10 in that regard. We were in one of the sites backing onto the road, not the lake, and although still very private, it was quite noisy from the cars. The road is under construction and the gravel is very loud, so we struggled to sleep well at night, although both of us are light sleepers.
If you can get a site on the lake side, definitely go for it - it's stunning. But the other side I would probably avoid unless you are a heavy sleeper - at least till the road is finished.

Very pretty and private feeling campsite. My family loved being able to access the creek and listen to it all night while camping. The pit toilets were clean and the whole vibe of the campsite was lovely. Looking forward to visiting again!

Nice, small, well maintained campground. You do get lots of road noise, but it’s also a great place to roll out of bed and start your day exploring the park! I came very late and a couple had tried to set up in my reserved camp site. Thankfully after not too much of a hassle they moved along and I was able to use my site. A large animal did pass through in the middle of the night, so do remember to store all you items safely.

This campground was a good location so that it included access to Going to the Sun Road without need for separate reservation. It also had a great location on Lake MacDonald for great sunsets and direct access for paddleboarding. However, it had a lot of road noise being right off the road and a lot of dust from the current road construction.

Campsites are very close to each other. Some have a view of the lake. It’s very close to the going to the sun road so you can hear the cats driving. Hosts are very friendly.

Sprague Creek Campground has multiple entry points on the east and west side of the park.
West Side
- West Entrance – From Columbia Falls, take Highway 2 east to the town of West Glacier (approximately 33 miles/53 km from Kalispell).
- West Entrance – From Browning, take Highway 2 west to the town of West Glacier.
East Side
- St. Mary Entrance – From Columbia Falls, take Highway 2 east to the town of Browning (approx. 83 miles/134 km). At the traffic circle, exit onto Hwy 89 north and continue for another 30 miles (48 km). Follow the signage to the St. Mary Visitor Center / Going-to-the-Sun Road.
- St. Mary Entrance – From Browning, take Highway 89 north to Going-to-the-Sun Road.
Sprague Creek Campground is accessible via Highway 2, which connects to the west entrance at West Glacier and the east entrance at St. Mary. Highway 89 also provides access from Browning to the St. Mary Entrance.

Policies & Rules
General
- RV Maximum Length in the Campground. The maximum size limit allowed for all vehicles as well as combinations of vehicles and towed units in Sprague Creek Campground is 21 feet in length (including bumpers) and/or 8 feet in width (including mirrors).
- Vehicle length limits along Going-to-the-Sun Road. Vehicle and vehicle combinations longer than 21 feet (6.4 m) or wider than 8 feet (2.4 m) including mirrors are prohibited between the Sun Point parking area and Avalanche Campground on Going-to-the-Sun Road.
- Generator use is prohibited at all times in this campground.
- Food Storage and Wildlife. Grizzly and black bears frequent the area; food storage regulations strictly enforced; when not in immediate use, all food, beverages, coolers, cooking utensils, pet food, or other attractants must be kept in a closed, hard-sided vehicle or secured in bear proof storage lockers near campground restrooms.
- The maximum length of stay is 14 days.
- Fire Rings Only. Camp sites contain fire rings but do not have fire grates for grilling/ food preparation.
- Hammocks. Hammocks must be hung over non vegetated areas using one inch straps or wider. Vegetation may not be trampled to access hammocks.
- Maximum Number of Tents. Campsites allow a maximum of 2 tents per site.
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood within the same county in which you plan to camp. Moving firewood is illegal in some states.
- Per 36 CFR 5.3, commercial business may not take place inside Glacier National Park. This includes RVs and trailers being delivered within Glacier's boundaries. Renters of these must drive them in themselves.
