Sprague Creek Campground

We loved being close to the lake. The road noise was very loud. Our site backed up to the road.

Really love this campground. Smaller and more quiet than others in the vicinity and set right on the lakeshore. Close enough to the lodge in case you need anything there or want to enjoy the restaurant/activities. With people out enjoying the park during the day, it can feel like you have the whole place to yourselves almost, very little traffic in and out. Very easy access to the lake and beautiful sunset vistas in the evenings. Yes, there’s some noise since you're right off the GTTSR but honestly, it’s hard to get away from that in most places in the park as it’s the main corridor. Highly recommended!

I’ve never camped at a facility with friendlier and more helpful staff. The park manager and the nice lady who runs the store were AWESOME! I can’t say enough good things about both of them. And I absolutely loved the park itself. Gorgeous and peaceful! I’ll DEFINITELY be back. KUDOS to the park staff.

Campsite 14 is indeed the worst site in this small campground. It's right next to the bathrooms, a pro if you don't like going to the bathroom at night. We didn't experience too much noise from the bathroom. What made it the worst was the size of the site, we barely fit our truck on the parking pad. It's on the inner circle so you don't get the beautiful woods vibe, and there's essentially no backing into the site unless you have a small car. You are right up in the neighbor across the inner circles business, no barrier. It was a good place for the 1 rainy night we stayed there, if I would be camping longer, would not enjoy this site.

A beautiful area located in Lake McDonald. Very quiet with beach views.

We had site 13 and it was probably one of the best, if not the best, site in the campground. Maybe even the whole park! Smaller and quiet but still very close to amenities.

The campsite was great. Toilets and sinks are a plus. The only complaint is there was no soap in the bathrooms ( probably due to it able to be smelled by the bears.) The sites are well shaded by trees so make sure you bring big spray

Site was lovely, scenic (we could peep the lake through another site) and a pathway and stairs led right down to the lake! The site made many things closer to access on the Going to the Sun Road. The campground is nestled between the lake and the road, so you will get some traffic but still absolutely worth it to be on the lake later in the evening light, and/or early in the morning before other park-goers enter. Bathrooms were close, and good water was available--although not hot water. Bring a bin for washing your dishes and then there is a large dispoasl for dumping water and small particles so as not to attract bears

We loved the views of Lake McDonald at this campsite. It was a great location for exploring the west side of Glacier National Park. There was a nice beach at the picnic area that we were able to swim at (open to day use and public during the day). The park did a good job of limiting traffic within the camp, no one was driving through that wasn't a camper. The tent pads were nice and flat. There was some noise from the road but it was still easy to sleep. There aren't a lot of sites (24) at this campground so it didn't feel too busy in the restroom. bring some handsoap for the rest room if you remember! The lake views are amazing.
