Spent a lovely three nights at Sprague on one of the lake-adjacent spots. The bathrooms were kept clean (although no soap dispensers, so bring your own). There is ambient car noise since the campground is right next to GTTSR, but the lovely Lake McDonald views more than compensated. I wouldn't have liked to stay in one of the sites that are next to the road, though. Overall, I rate this campground higher than Fish Creek and Avalanche, but lower than Two Medicine and Many Glacier.

Site was conveniently located and seemed to be well kept. Events happening at campsite each night according to calendar. Felt safe as a solo traveler. Site 11 is directly part of the bathroom path. I was car camping for hikes, so it wasn't too bothersome, but likely would be for those doing more traditional camping.

Very nice spot with full working restrooms. Not allot of privacy but great access to lake McDonald

Loved the lake and the camp host! Will be bringing fewer coolers next time as we weren’t very prepared for the smaller size of the shared bear box, but we managed with using our vehicle instead. Would visit again!

Site 8. This campsite might be the best one at this campground. Great views of the lake. No neighbors on one side due to the stairs that lead down to the lake. On the other side, the neighbors are a little close but probably can’t do any better at this campground.

The campsite was excellent and offered beautiful scenery. It was conveniently located close to the restrooms, and the lakeshore was just a one-minute walk away.

Sprague Creek Campground has multiple entry points on the east and west side of the park.
West Side
- West Entrance – From Columbia Falls, take Highway 2 east to the town of West Glacier (approximately 33 miles/53 km from Kalispell).
- West Entrance – From Browning, take Highway 2 west to the town of West Glacier.
East Side
- St. Mary Entrance – From Columbia Falls, take Highway 2 east to the town of Browning (approx. 83 miles/134 km). At the traffic circle, exit onto Hwy 89 north and continue for another 30 miles (48 km). Follow the signage to the St. Mary Visitor Center / Going-to-the-Sun Road.
- St. Mary Entrance – From Browning, take Highway 89 north to Going-to-the-Sun Road.
Sprague Creek Campground is accessible via Highway 2, which connects to the west entrance at West Glacier and the east entrance at St. Mary. Highway 89 also provides access from Browning to the St. Mary Entrance.

Policies & Rules
General
- RV Maximum Length in the Campground. The maximum size limit allowed for all vehicles as well as combinations of vehicles and towed units in Sprague Creek Campground is 21 feet in length (including bumpers) and/or 8 feet in width (including mirrors).
- Vehicle length limits along Going-to-the-Sun Road. Vehicle and vehicle combinations longer than 21 feet (6.4 m) or wider than 8 feet (2.4 m) including mirrors are prohibited between the Sun Point parking area and Avalanche Campground on Going-to-the-Sun Road.
- Generator use is prohibited at all times in this campground.
- Food Storage and Wildlife. Grizzly and black bears frequent the area; food storage regulations strictly enforced; when not in immediate use, all food, beverages, coolers, cooking utensils, pet food, or other attractants must be kept in a closed, hard-sided vehicle or secured in bear proof storage lockers near campground restrooms.
- The maximum length of stay is 14 days.
- Fire Rings Only. Camp sites contain fire rings but do not have fire grates for grilling/ food preparation.
- Hammocks. Hammocks must be hung over non vegetated areas using one inch straps or wider. Vegetation may not be trampled to access hammocks.
- Maximum Number of Tents. Campsites allow a maximum of 2 tents per site.
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood within the same county in which you plan to camp. Moving firewood is illegal in some states.
- Per 36 CFR 5.3, commercial business may not take place inside Glacier National Park. This includes RVs and trailers being delivered within Glacier's boundaries. Renters of these must drive them in themselves.
