Surprisingly good view from this particular pitch - seems it is only less popular due to being next to a group site but the view of Glacier's peaks more than makes up for it! Nice and private hidden behind some small shrubs. Could struggle to fit larger tents.

While the area is beautiful, this campground is tough for tent campers with large tents. Site are generally very small, so we had to set up tents in driveway. Additionally, daily wind blew over our tents repeatedly and permanently broke one.
Most sites have little shade, but using an easy up with impossible because of wind.
Had trouble cooking because wind kept blowing out the flame on our stove.
The restroom closest to our site was closed.
The showers in loop C are fairly cold.
We ended up leaving four days early due to these conditions.

We were fortunate to get last minute sites due to someone’s cancellation. Smooth process, lovely sites.

This site was awesome! Tent was easily sent up, but will warn squirrels loved eating on the branches above our tent and dropping their food on it. The showers and bathrooms were very well maintained. Would definitely stay here again!

Multi family camping trip was great at St Mary. Walked from A loop to visitor center and creek to fish. Showers in C loop were warm and big and bathrooms nice and clean. Rangers made rounds which was cool. Location was great for east side hikes and drives. Sites level enough that we didn’t need blocks and our family stayed in all three loops. Highly recommend!

LOVE this campground! It's so close to the east entrance of the park, there's a great spot to put into the river or fly fish right by the gate, and if you want food or fuel, there's a great gas station, store, and restaurant close by. The view of the sky at night IS the reason to come here! Wide open and absolutely stunning! Also, not that we really cared about it, but this was one of the few places we had great cell service in the park.

Great views of the mountains beyond, but wide open sites and little privacy between. The bathhouses and showers were older, kept clean, but in need of updating. Nice campground Ranger programs.
