St. Mary Campground offers a great experience with informative ranger talks, clean facilities, and helpful hosts. Campsites are generally well-maintained, providing privacy and beautiful views, though some sites may require leveling. While some campers noted noise and mosquito issues, the overall ambiance, accessibility to activities, and friendly staff contribute to a positive camping experience.

The sites are relatively small but the view is beautiful. I was only here for one night and it served the purpose. My only complaint is that the water in the shower was only warm, not hot. It would have been the perfect temperature if I had a sunborn. The road going through is a one way, so you have to drive through the whole loop every time. That adds extra traffic. The location was great!

Managed to get one of the last spots available, last minute. Super quiet and lovely to stay the night at.

We really enjoyed this campsite. It was beautiful and the bathrooms were very convenient. We like our location because it was close to Many Glacier and St. Mary and Virginia Falls. It was a little windy but we were very comfortable.

Turns out…late May is preseason. All establishments -locals and park- not yet open. And cold. And wonderful. A whole different experience. Cycle instead of drive. Cook instead of eat out. Camp host was so kind in getting me into. And the site #136…well: it was the most magnificent view. Great hikes. Oh! Found out about Many Glacier too…who knew? Each (West, this East, and Many Glacier) with its own distinct vibe. Love them all.
