Our campsite and most others were nicely spaced with a bit of privacy. The nearest restroom was closed “for renovation” but no work was happening on it. It was a much longer walk to the next one. And especially for men, having only one stall, my husband sometimes had to keep searching. In any future renovations, two stalls for both men and women would be nice.
The walk to the visitor center was scenic, crossing the river, and not too far. It would be nice if a hiking trail could be accessed from the campground. We saw a worker hiking to a ridge and when I asked her about it, she said it’s not a public trail.

Could not have been a better campsite for us! Short walk to the bathroom, the camp hosts were active and friendly walking around the campsite, and the short walk on the paved trail to the St. Mary River was a great activity for us after hiking. Bathrooms and showers were good. The shower did not get consistently hot water, but we expected that and just appreciated being able to wash off after a long hike. This campsite was also so much quieter than anything on the west side. The east side in my opinion is the best side of the park! Easy drives to St. Mary, Going-to-the-Sun Road, Two Sister's Cafe, and the visitor center (which we also walked to twice). We absolutely plan to be back here!

The tent platform at the campsite assigned to us was full of weeds and small bushes. We pulled some of the weeds and pitched our tent over it. Few other campsite platforms were mowed i.e. easier to pitch the tent.
2 of the 4 showers were broken and the lights in one of them did not work.
Essentially it is a run down poorly maintained campsite. For the 4 nights we stayed there we did not see the ranger or the campsite volunteer/guardian do the rounds, whereas in Apgar we saw them multiple times a day and Apgar was way better maintained.

Nice spot right next to the restrooms! Will say however there wasn’t much shade so beware it does get a bit hot in the tent. It’s also a bit noisy since it is right next to the bathrooms. If you are a heavy sleeper then it’s all good but light sleepers should bring ear plugs. Beautiful scenery of the mountains and the sunsets are stunning to watch from the fire pit.

Nice campground with great views. More open than I was thinking, and the path to the bathroom was literally right next to our fire pit. Restrooms, showers and garbage all very nice and convenient. Saw a grizzly walk across the ridge above the camp, super cool to see!

Located a half-mile west of the St. Mary entrance near St. Mary, Montana. Access is from U.S. Highway 89 approximately 33 miles (51 km) northwest of Browning, Montana or over Logan Pass when open. Vehicle restrictions are in effect.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
