Glacier National Park is amazing. We always prefer camping inside National Parks whenever we can get a reservation. This was the first time we were able to get a site at St Mary Campground. We drive a 33 ft Class A Motorhome towing a Jeep. The sites at St Mary are a little tight for our size rig but we made it work. We saw a grizzly bear inside the campground so please be bear aware when camping here.

I stayed in loop a I enjoyed my time here, and reserved multiple times.
Interpretive talks at the ampitheatre were awesome.
Convenient to the visitor center. Awesome evening events and talks. Clean facilities. Nice sites. Excellent, no; beyond excellent hosts. Brad came around each night, altering campers to food precautions and bear safety. Every day Jennifer would mark the sites. Basically, they were a presence, and you recognized them.
Park rangers usually made the rounds almost every day.
However, the music!! Loop a was closest to the in town bar. The only downside to this location was the loud and late music. After September 1, it seemed like a green light to let loose with techno rock and rave music. That 100% ruined the quiet.

We stayed at St. Mary for two nights in mid-September, right before the campground turned to primitive status. Only the C loop was open, and C149 turned out to be a perfect site for our 27 ft travel trailer. The pull-through site has a slight curve and is large enough. It had no obstructions to navigate besides a small bit of grass and plants at the outside middle point of the driveway. The site had a beautiful, thick grove of trees along the camp side that provided a more private setting there. The showers and restrooms are right across from the site, which was fine for us. We didn't use them, but found it convenient to have the grey water dish dumping station so close by. The fall colors were brilliant in the campground and along the Going to the Sun Road, which was very convenient to access from the campground. There is a potable water fill and dump station located at the exit (these along with the restrooms and showers are closed when in primitive status). Great stay within the park!

Stayed one night at St Mary’s CG. The water service was completely shut down so I can’t comment on showers (yes there are showers) or the bathrooms. The park was clean and available and no issues with wildlife at night

Though to find a spot. Luckily found this site during the 8 am release of same-day reservations. Nice pull-through with a great view and fire ring.
