I was tempted to give this location 4 stars or 3 stars as this review is underpinned by the fact that we were asked to leave the campground and find other accommodations on short notice due to bear activity while being in a tent after being told by an on-site ranger that we would be fine. However, taking a step back, I realize it is unfair to judge the campground by situational circumstances.
Based upon the facilities offered, and the views available, it is easily a 5 and I would return again. Warm showers make the world go round.

Site C121 was very nice. Lots of space for camper and tent. Showers were nice and ranger program was a good one.

Make sure you understand which sites are really available for popup pickup campers. Entire campground was hard sided only when we arrived, so we had to find a different campground.

Wasn't allowed to stay, soft sided tents were not allowed due to increased bear activity.

We absolutely loved St. Mary campground. In fact, we changed plans and came back to stay there after site opened up a few days later. The camp hosts were all so nice and welcoming and the bathrooms were so clean. The location was perfect since it was just inside the E. side of the park, and we thought the sites were all spacious and private. We will definitely return here next time we’re in Glacier.

Loved the campground. On top of the amazing views, the rangers were so sweet. Bathrooms were great, showers were a very nice surprise. This campground was ideal for a base camp for many glacier and the rest of the park. Absolutely will be staying here again.

Loved this campsite!! You can see the mountains and it’s an open field! This campsite is a bit of a walk to the bathroom! There’s also showers that are nice and have warmish water, only like 5 of them so first come first serve! Water was super close right off the campsite to the left. Wasn’t any trees to hammock, a little walk back behind the trees and you can see an open field.

A bit hard to rate because our 3 night reservation was cut 2 nights short since they went hard sided only due to increased bear activity. We stayed the first night, but the campground was a bit eerily on the empty side. Bathrooms were nice, smelled strongly of beach. Campsites are on small side and no shade; ours only had room for 1 tent. Thankful for the showers!
