This campground had the best location, no need to drive anywhere as each trailhead was within walking distance. The lake being across the road was amazing for paddling and swimming.

I booked 5 days at this campsite and then picked up a walk up 4 day backpacking trip at the permit office. Recreation.gov helpline could not cancel my campsite reservation once it started and no one in the campground area could either. The campsite sat empty for 4 days and that’s such a shame. It was really nice otherwise.

Great campground, but this particular site number is too small and on an angle

I probably have the same complaint as everyone else. The Recreation.gov reservation system is a disaster. At our campground, as with most campgrounds, about a quarter to a third of the sites are no-shows. There is no penalty for no-shows. Plus, there is no mechanism for a cutoff time for occupying a campsite and let others rent the unclaimed site. At Two Medicine campground, there is no cell coverage so there is no way to book or cancel a campsite without driving out to St. Mary. We have avoided national parks since they adopted the Recreation.gov reservation system and our visit confirms that we will avoid national parks until things improve. By the way, I am an ex-park ranger and one of my previous duties was managing a Park Service campground. It worked much better in the old days.

Our favorite campground in Glacier.
Incredibly beautiful hikes and the least crowded in Glacier!

I love the campground. It is a bit out of the way and not too busy. It has easy access to many beautiful hikes and the lake is wonderful for canoeing.
All the hikes were beautiful and not over run with too many people. The lakes and rivers are clear and cool.

Two Medicine is one of my favorite areas. Site 61 isn't my favorite (no way to stake a tent, but it might be ok for a trailer), but it's still always great to be in GNP. Went to the ranger talk led by Bob Vangundy and he is TREMENDOUS! What an asset to the park! If you get a chance to hear him, please take it. Unfortunately we did have to leave early as my husband is disabled and needed to get home. But we'll be back.
