What Guests Are Saying
Tally Lake Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, secluded setting, spacious campsites, and friendly camp hosts who enhance the overall experience. Campers enjoy various activities such as swimming, kayaking, and hiking, with many expressing a desire to return. While there are some concerns about dust from gravel roads and occasional issues with water pressure, the campground is generally clean and well-maintained, making it a favorite among visitors.

Shady, semi-private spots with nice (small) swimming area. Too many people letting dogs onto beach, and way to many gophers digging holes near restroom, so many and so big dog and younger daughter were tripping and falling...out of control!

Large sites, super clean, excellent camp hosts, nice hiking trails, paddle boards and kayaks for rent! What a great Montana gem!

Tally Lake has been a favorite destination campground with our family for nearly 25 years. Some sites are considered more "prime" than others, but we have always enjoyed our visits regardless of whichever site we have occupied. The lake itself is definitely the primary draw. Yet, there always seems to be plenty of lake space to accommodate multiple users. There are a few hiking trails if you want an alternative to lake recreation. There are no houses or cabins on this lake, which is also a big plus. Mosquitoes can be a pesky nuisance, particularly in the early summer, so bring bug spray. Late summer/early fall can be quite enjoyable with the changing colors of the foliage and usually lower campground census.
