Gordon Reese Cabin offers a stunning location with breathtaking 360-degree views of the mountains and Clark Fork River, perfect for wildlife watching and enjoying nature. The cabin is clean, well-stocked, and provides ample space for guests, making it an excellent backcountry shelter. However, visitors should come prepared with necessities like water and light sources, as some amenities may not be fully functional.

A fantastic location. 360 degree long-range views of mountains and the Clark Fork River. WIldlfowers, plenty of firewood, and ample room for three in the lookout (we brought a cot, two of us shared the bed). Drive up would be doable in a car but you'd have to take it very slow. Our 4x4 pickup handled it was ease. Last 100 yards are a little hairy. Forewarned, the gate lock (inside of a steel enclosure) was challenging to operate.

A gorgeous and peaceful place. We found the cabin clean and well cared for. You will need to bring your own water, but the kitchen has everything necessary for cooking and coffee making. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck, listening to birds and watching the wildlife. A real treasure!

The cabin is an excellent backcountry shelter, with ample space and most of the supplies you need for a comfortable stay. The wood stove provides ample heat and the mattresses are fine. The location can’t be beat - and the night sky on a clear night is ….indescribable….

The solar lights did not work because the prior quests left the light on to the upstairs sleeping area. The propane lights illuminated a small area. Would recommend bringing hiking headlamps for extra light.

Well stocked cabin with oven&range, lights (solar battery) and firewood stove (stocked inside) at beautiful, remote yet accessible location - pack fresh water in and trash out. 12+" snow fell to make ski trip fun but interesting getting out mid-winter. Cheif Joe parking lot not plowed next day so be prepared for anything! Cabin is shared with xc skiers during day and we were grateful for their kindness, help and had good winter experience.

Cell phones don't work there. The lot wasn't plowed and we got stuck twice in the parking area even with four wheel drive.
