Had site 1 which is closest to highway 4 and traffic noise. The overwhelming number of yellowjackets made any attempts at cooking or just sitting around and chatting futile. Would not visit this campground again

Older campground, some sites too sunny due to loss of trees. Site 7 fine. Only problem was the Yellow Jackets due to a local surge.

Beautiful, quiet campground off route 4. We stayed at site 11, so rarely heard the road. Spacious site and fairly private. A little tight but doable for our 18 ft. trailer and truck. Less than a mile from gorgeous lake alpine and the lodge with a restaurantand store if you need any last minute supplies. It is a 2 minute drive or you can walk in a nice little trail right from the campground. No mosquitoes this time of year (late August) but lots of meat bees! We set up a decoy meat trap (a couple pieces of carne asada in a soda can filled with a little water) and had Off intense coils and that helped a lot. Dennis was a great host! Clean bathrooms (flush toilets) and potable water is available.

To start off the camp host was top tier. We had an issue with our site and we were able to move to another site per his suggestion. Which turned out to be the perfect site for us. With that being said site 19 IS NOT for trailers. The driveway is worn away and so unlevel it’s crazy. And the marsh like grass was a breeding ground for mosquitos. The bathrooms were so clean and well taken care of.

Campground is a bit rough and showing it's age. Some sites are right on top of neighboring site making them uncomfortable! The peace and quiet is wonderful... even a bit of traffic noise could not overwhelm! Dennis the camp host is spectacular! Always there to answer questions and helping campers make the right moves. Restrooms clean and very usable! We will go back!

From Angel's Camp, drive east on Highway 4 toward Lake Alpine. About 1/10th. mile past Bear Valley Ski resort turn-off, watch for sign for Silvertip Campground. The Campground is 2/3 of a mile west of Lake Alpine on Highway 4.
Silver Tip Campground is accessed via Highway 4, which connects to the region and is approximately 2/3 of a mile west of Lake Alpine.
