The campsite is close to Lake Alpine, is easy to find, small, yet feels like you still have your own space. Campsite 16 specifically is right next to the bathrooms BUT the bathrooms are honestly so clean that they don’t smell from the outside, and it’s actually really nice to be next to them. Camp host Joe stopped by shortly after we arrived, asked us if we had any questions, informed us of amenities like the water spouts being safe to drink from, etc. Super chill! We felt the campsite was the perfect size for 2 of us and our 6 person tent (lol). Neighbors were louder here and there but what do you expect towards the end of summer with lots of families in the site? We didn’t mind! We liked knowing we were close enough to other folks in case there WAS an emergency or something. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend this site. You are walking distance to the lake, and the Lake Alpine Lodge where you can find fun souvenirs. Highly recommend! Lots of great wildlife to see too like birds, cool bugs and plants.

Joe was a fantastic host! He was present and very helpful when my site wasn’t suitable for my camper, he assisted in finding suitable available site. Best host I’ve encountered.

Nice location, quieter than the other campgrounds around Lake Alpine (but also a longer walk to the lake). Check in was easy and the host was great. I was at spot #4 and it doesn't really have a truly flat spot for anything bigger than a small 2 person tent. Bear Locker get's blasted by open sun all afternoon so anything in there gets really hot. It was a nice quiet outside the ring spot though. Trash bin at campground was locked 24 hrs despite sign saying it was open 8a-8p, so had to drive to the one off the highway to drop trash.

Campground was beautiful and clean. Very clean bathrooms. The campground host, Joe was very helpful and so polite. Only issue is that sites #8 & #10 were so steep they were impossible to level our trailer or van.

This is an old campground that has few flat areas for tents. Beautiful hikes right out of the campground. Beautiful nearby Lake Alpine. Camp host super nice! Quiet. No bugs in July. Horrible meat bee problem in August.

Really lovely campsite. Close access to the lake, pretty quiet and clean overall.

The attendant never checked us in and the toilets smelled something fierce, but otherwise would recommend it.

There are a lot of sweat bees at meal time!

We had a great time at Silver Valley Campground. There are several spiggots available, quite a few toilets, and an attentive host. The toilets were cleaned regularly but, as with all pit toilets, there were a lot of flies. We rented several sites - 12, 14, and 16. 16 had the most shade of the 3. 14 was big enough for our large tent and had better shade in the afternoon. 12 was a very small site for tents - our friends put their tent in the car area to have the most level spot. 12 does back up to a nice meadow, but is otherwise small and sunny. 10 minute walk to the east side of the lake. You can also do a short drive to the chickaree day use lot if you have a lot of gear to unload. We had a great time and will be back.

One of the best campgrounds I’ve ever been too. Super clean and an easy walk away from the lake.

RVs are allowed in every site if they fit, but this campground is a far cry from an RV park. The only surefire way to know if you can comfortably fit your RV in a specific site is to take an exploratory trip to scout it out for yourself.
  • Site driveways are asphalt and may not be level. There is no guarantee of sites having level driveways. Please bring ample leveling equipment for RVs and trailers.Driveway lengths are estimates and not guaranteed.
  • Campsites must be occupied during the dates of reservation. Guests who do not arrive by 2PM on the day following their scheduled date of arrival will be considered a No-Show and their reservation will automatically be cancelled.
  • Dogs must remain on leash and under control at all times. Dogs may not be left in camp unattended, and all leads must be 6 feet or less in length. USFS guidelines allow for a maximum of two dogs per campsite.
  • Generator use is limited to 2 hours per day, in between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.
  • This is bear country-Be bear aware! Keep all food out of sight in containers or inside a locked vehicle. Remove all food from the area after eating.
  • Boats have a 10 MPH speed limit on the lake.
  • No electric hookups, water, or sewer hookups available. Drinking water available through spigots.
  • All equipment must fit on the site pad. Vehicles park in developed areas only.
  • No extra vehicles are allowed. Extra vehicle parking is available along Highway 4 and campground entrance roads.
