What Guests Are Saying
Silver Valley Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained location, ideal for families and offering a peaceful atmosphere, with clean bathrooms and friendly camp hosts. The proximity to the lake and nearby hiking trails enhances the overall experience, making it a favorite spot for many campers. However, some sites, particularly site 20, may have uneven ground and overgrowth, which can be a drawback for certain campers.

Trailers over 26 feet are tough to maneuver because or tight campsites narrow roads and rocks and trees interfere while backing into campsites.

This was a wonderful camp site, #2. We had a big meadow behind us, which was beautiful and a bathroom next to us. Many flat spots for a tent. This loop isnβt the popular one because it is farthest from the lake, but it was nice and quiet which is what we wanted. The walk to the lake is a quick 5 minutes. There are 3 bathrooms in the loop so you are near one no matter the site you choose. It is empty during the week!
The camp host, Angel, was AMAZING! We got there pretty late on day one and he knew we wouldnβt have enough time to find wood so he brought us a bundle for the night and lent us a rake. He was so helpful throughout the whole week we were there. He knew the area pretty well and was able to point us to good hikes all around. He really made the trip better for us.
The lake is lovely. We were there is early June and it wasnβt too cold. There were some thunder storms with rain and hail. We didnβt mind it at all, but it did make for some pretty cold nights; bring extra blankets if you go early in the season. We didnβt have any issues with wildlife. Just make sure you put you food away at night.
The lodge is nice. Has all the things you may have forgotten for camping. We ate at the restaurant one day and it was decent. The shower rooms could use a bit of a fixing up, more than a bit. Only $3.25 for 5 minutes, but when it takes 2 minutes to heat the water it makes it a bit rough especially with kids. It is kinda janky in the showers, from what I heard the mens side is much worse that the womanβs side. But it does have a flushable toilet. We did use the laundry as we were there for over a week. It was cheap and easy to use, and the washer and dryer looked clean. The downfall, at least for early June. Mosquito heaven. Bring your repellant and know where it is for as soon as you get there. Morning, noon and night. They seem to never leave, but are definitely out more in the mornings and evenings.

This campground is kind of far from the lake, a 5 min walk. Also the sites are too close to the next, the odd numbers are on the flattest ground but very uneven, the even #'s are on a hill and you have to carry all your stuff up, and reverse is down hill side. Only room for a few RV's most site should be tent only. No garbage in campground, had to find one at lake.
Our camp host was great (name Angel) he cleaned restrooms , picked up trash, keep us informed on what was happening. We was having a tree cut down on the road to the campground between 9am and 1pm and let us know ahead of time so we could decide and make plans on getting in and out.
The bear boxes only fits 2 ice chest so a large group would have to leave others in their cars. The tables are also on the small side, bring enough for group.
Bathrooms was clean and plenty of water spigots. Fire rigs good size and in good shape.
Went to eat at Lodge and food is over priced and not any good.
Will not be going back to either.

Great first experience. Beautiful scenery. Tried this place on a whim to take the family on our 1st trip, needless to say we will be coming back as often as we possibly can. Easy 10 min walk to the lake and tons of hiking trails and places to explore.

We love this campground and stay here every year. This year our campground host was Angel - he was helpful and personable and the restrooms were spotless. He greeted us at the check in and made regular rounds to make sure all was well. There was a bear in the camp but nothing happened (didn't get anyone's food or trash the dumpster) and one reason why was Angel came to each campsite to warn us to be careful and put all the food in the bear box, The next night - bear in the camp again! He came around and warned us again to be careful and he scared it away from the camp! Yay Angel! I felt like he wanted to make sure everyone had a positive experience, he was happy and enjoyed his job! He is an asset to the campground for sure! Will be back next year!

My host at the Silver Valley campground was a young man named Angel. He was very helpful in helping me to find a suitable camp spot for me and my daughter. He made sure we were safe at the end of a day on the trail and addressed my concerns with other campers campfires and noise.
He was great. Also the man at the store was very helpful in helping us find an appropriate hiking trail and map for our excursions. Thanks to both of you.
Sincerely,
Debi and Katie

Great stay. Clean bathrooms and a short walk to the lake. The campground host Angel was great. He greeted us when we arrived, checked on us later to ensure everything was good. He was good spirited and fun to talk with, Angel also kept the campsite safe. Some of camping neighbors walked away leaving fire flaming and food on the table (the night before they was a bear). Angel quickly doused the fire and put the food away. He keeps the campers accountable to the rules so we can have future camping trips without forest fires. Thanks Angel.

This high alpine campground is very old, and was not designed and built with modern RVs in mind. It contains narrow roads, tight turns, and many, many inconvenient boulders and trees. RVs are allowed in every site if they fit, but this campground is a far cry from an RV park. The only surefire way to know if you can comfortably fit your RV in a specific site is to take an exploratory trip to scout it out for yourself. |
