What Guests Are Saying
Silver Valley Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained location, ideal for families and offering a peaceful atmosphere, with clean bathrooms and friendly camp hosts. The proximity to the lake and nearby hiking trails enhances the overall experience, making it a favorite spot for many campers. However, some sites, particularly site 20, may have uneven ground and overgrowth, which can be a drawback for certain campers.

We spent four nights at Silver Valley Campground at Alpine Lake. The campground is smaller than the others nearby, which is great and tends to be calmer. We were in site 13, which is in the inner loop, but not far from the water spigot, bathroom and trail down to the lake. It's about a 10 minute walk down to the lake from the campground. The facilities we kept very clean and it seemed to be very well managed. Our campground host, Joe (I believe), was friendly, welcoming and took good care of the grounds. This is a campground I can recommend and will consider staying again.

We just stayed 4 nights and had a wonderful time fishing and bike riding at lake. The restrooms and camping areaβs were clean and well cared for, Joe the camp host does a great job there.Had some good food at the restaurant and purchased some shirts and souvenirs at the store this is one of our favorite places to go camping. ποΈ

great campground. perfect for access to the lake. sites can be pretty uneven if you are sleeping in a trailer or in your car. plenty of flat ground for tents tho.

Had a great one-night stay at site 20 at Silver Valley Campground. The bathrooms were spotless, host was friendly, neighbors fairly quiet and the site was comfy. The campground had been open less than a week when we arrived so it was likely cleaner than typical. I'm looking forward to returning!

This campground in general is nice because of itβs proximity to the lake. It is walking distance to the day use area and you donβt have to pay for entering if you are camping. But site 20 is awful. Everything is overgrown, the ground is uneven, and there is no place to put a tent. I donβt even think itβs suitable for a camper because the area by the picnic table and fire pit is overgrown. Luckily we got two sites for our family and had some cancellations so we were able to squeeze a camper van and 3 tents into site 19. We basically only used site 20 for the parking.

I didnβt know what to expect after last yearβs campsites closure due to the hard winter. Our campsite was great. Still a lot of trees and tons of wildflowers. Our camp host, Mike, was very informative and helpful with info around Lake Alpine. We have been coming here many years and it never disappoints us.

Always enjoy coming here. Camp hosts are on top of things. Only one bear but it was harmless. Inspiration point hike has some very good views and is a great hike. The lake isn't overly crowded. Will be continuing to come back.

The parking pads need to be smoothed and leveled.

Site 20 should be avoided. No shade, completely overgrown by weeds, and no obvious pads for a tent. Other sites were much better.

Need to have running water available. Forest service keeps putting off. Had to haul water to my camp site. Otherwise, fabulous experience!

This high alpine campground is very old, and was not designed and built with modern RVs in mind. It contains narrow roads, tight turns, and many, many inconvenient boulders and trees. RVs are allowed in every site if they fit, but this campground is a far cry from an RV park. The only surefire way to know if you can comfortably fit your RV in a specific site is to take an exploratory trip to scout it out for yourself. |
