Thomas Canyon offers stunning views, a relaxing atmosphere, and plenty of hiking opportunities, making it a favorite for many campers. This is a beautiful location. River running through the campground. Check an aerial view if you want a site that faces the rushing water. Very very clean. 40-some sites, but also feels small. Lots of privacy between sites, super clean rest rooms, large campsites each with fire pit and grill and cement pad for table. Wonderful easy hiking trail up the river with lots of waterfalls and little swimming hole areas if you want to dip in. Will definitely consider this again if in the area. And, true, no cell coverage at all. Nice in many ways.

How can one go wrong with staying in a Federal Campground in one of the most incredible canyons and mountains in this country. The Ruby Mountains are a place one needs to spend time in to explore.

The campground was very clean, spaces are nicely spread out (a few are closer together but most have a good amount of distance between them). Bathrooms were very clean and camp hosts were very helpful. The hiking trail right out of camp was beautiful and well maintained (I'd say moderate the farther you go). We went in early June and lots of water in the river and waterfalls everywhere. Just a lovely weekend and we definitely want to go back as there are plenty of sites and hikes nearby.
