Our site #24 in Rianna was perfect for us. It has some shade along the driveway keeping the camper cool in the morning. Our 22' camper fit nicely along with our truck. It doesn't leave room for a second car but you can park in overflow area. We also had a tent set up and it was a reasonable level spot but if it would have rained it would be very muddy. There is a grill, fire pit and picnic table with a shade cover. The vault toilets are very clean and there are flush toilets a short walk. The camp hosts and rangers were very attentive and answered all our questions. We had a total of 5 sites filled with family and friends. We went for a celebratory 4days and the Eclipse. We all loved our time. The views of the lake and the surrounding bluffs were beautiful. There is a 4 mile trail that provides a great medium level hike. We took our kayaks but only paddles one day as there was blue green algae bloom. The water was like glass and provided a very peaceful paddle. This is a federal facility so plan accordingly. There is no alcohol, mj, gate closes at 10, etc. There is potable water and dump station available and included in your fee.

The site was clean and overall camping area was in great shape. The hosts were friendly and helpful with local trails. I would recommend this camping area to friends. Not to mention to view was spectacular.

The campground was clean as were the restrooms. The hostess was so fabulous! She greeted us with happy enthusiasm which made it fun even just to talk with her! It was of course, a beautiful place, but she made it a great experience!

Our group stayed at Riana-Abiquiu Lake for a night, camping with seven motorcycles that occupied four campsites with two tents each. The view of the lake and sunset were stunning, complemented by a breathtaking night sky with no city lights to spoil the view. The bathrooms and showers were conveniently located near our site a short distance away.

Overall an ok experience in a beautiful spot in late September 2023. Sites are easy to access and seem to be well laid out, but.... The spaces are really tightly spaced for a USACOE campground. One GIANT COMPLAINT we had (Site 26) is that the fire ring for the site next door (site 28) was right beside the RV/trailer pad for our site. So, the neighbors campfire was about 6-feet from our windows. Literally. We spend three nights with the neighbors' campfire filling our camper with smoke. We talked to them about it but they didn't care.
On the flip side. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful. The pit toilets and showers are clean. Views from the campground are awesome.
Would we stay again? Maybe. But we would be a lot more selective about the site we pick.

Excellent value with comfortable sites, hot showers, clean bathrooms/toilets and helpful compotent camp hosts. Great view of Riana Lake with spectacular sunsets common. Only 45 minutes from fun rock climbing in El Rito area. Well worth the commute for the comfortable sites!

Nice clean location. The camp hosts are friendly and do a great job. We had a group of college age kids who didn't understand the 10pm quiet hr rule and the park rangers arrived and put them all to bed..lol. Site 37 and 38 are way to close and you can smell the pit toilet. 33, 34 and 35 are awesome sites with unobstructed view of the lake.
