Valley of Fires Recreation Area

The lava flows and trail are very interesting. Many of the the campsites are located on a ridge which gives fantastic views in all directions. It can be quite windy. Most of the sites are not level and some will require a LOT of leveling blocks. The water and electric are on the passenger side so you might need an extension cord or longer hose of you want your rig to open towards the picnic table. The tables have nice roofs over them. The bath/shower facilities were nice and kept clean. The dump station is only available 7AM-7PM which was annoying when I went to use it at 8 PM. While you are here, checkout the Three Rivers Petroglyph Site which is not too far away. This is the better site to stay at if going to see both.

A really nice campground that is very well maintained. The views are great-will definitely stay there again.

Best check-in experience of any campground I’ve ever been to. Pull up to an open site, scan the QR code that’s on the post, pay, and set up camp. EZ-Peazy!

A beautiful location in a desolate kind of way. It’s one of those places you would normally never consider stopping at but we happened to be passing through and it was a good place to stop for the night. The campground has water and electric hookups and it appeared most spots were somewhat level. Very Clean showers are available, kudos to the camp host! Our only complaint was the hose at the dump station was out of order so if you plan on cleaning your tank out you’ll have to make other plans.
