Splendid scenery, the camp host was excellent! Facilities are well-maintained. The site is only couple miles from nearby village for delicious food and restaurants, fuel and supplies. Highly recommend it.

Campground and bathrooms were nice and clean. This is a beautiful campsite and we will definitely be back.

The Aspen campground was very well-maintained. The restrooms were clean. Jim, the friendly camp host visited each day, checked to see if we needed anything, and inspected the restrooms to ensure they were clean and stocked with necessary supplies. The camp site was free of litter and trash. The scenery was awesome! We saw several deer and elk walk through the camp. The nearby village of Cloudcroft,NM has lots of shops and restaurant options, as well as gas station and camp supplies. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

We have stayed at this campsite each summer for years. The camp host is amazing and the campsite met our needs.

Very well kept campground and very clean restrooms. Camp host checked in to make sure everything was well and offered firewood.

In southeast New Mexico, approximately 20 miles east of Alamagordo. From
Alamagordo take US 82 east and go 16 miles. Just before Cloudcraft turn
right (South) on NM 130. Go 1.4 miles. Turn left (east) on Forest Road
24B, go 0.5 miles. Aspen Group Area is on the left across from
Black Bear Group Area.
The Aspen Group Area is accessible from US 82, which is approximately 16 miles from Alamagordo. NM 130 provides access from US 82 and leads to the campground.

General
- Call 575-682-1518 prior to arrival to get the lock combination.
- No public phone.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (NOON) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
