What Guests Are Saying
Gallo Campground at Chaco Canyon offers a beautiful, serene experience with well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and potable water. Campers appreciate the stunning night skies and the opportunity to explore significant historical sites with fewer visitors. While some campers noted issues with noise from others and a lack of privacy between sites, the overall atmosphere is peaceful, and many look forward to returning for another stay.

This was an amazing place. The drive into the park was difficult and hard on the vehicles but we had a Ford Transit Van and it was ok. I don't think a 5th wheel or trailer would do as well. The campground had a nice bathroom, of course, no showers but very clean. There was also a dumping station. The park itself was a wonder. Why don't we ever learn about this in school.

The website was a little hard to use- I had to find a space that we fit and it was in a weird location on the website. No map of campground on the website either. The actual camping though was lovely hoping to return sometime and spend more time in Chaco canyon

Road in is washboard. Well worth it though given the ruins. Campers need to be aware of fire potential and not make campfires when windy. Some repairs needed to stall doors in women's restroom in campground. One has latch installed so lock is outside, hmm, one has fingerhole where you can push to lock but doesn't actually latch. Nonetheless, Great fun.

Sites are small with no privacy. Restrooms were clean and heated (but no hot water). A number of the better sites along the cliff side remain closed due to rockfalls.

We really enjoyed staying here. The bathrooms were the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground. It was very quiet and well maintained. Chaco was definitely worth staying at for several days to try to see everything. We stayed for four days/three nights and it definitely wasn't enough. There is wifi at the visitor center, which is nearby and open every day.

Love the beauty and simplicity of the campground. Wish the last unpaved portion of the road from the North was grated better.
