What Guests Are Saying
Gallo Campground at Chaco Canyon offers a beautiful, serene experience with well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and potable water. Campers appreciate the stunning night skies and the opportunity to explore significant historical sites with fewer visitors. While some campers noted issues with noise from others and a lack of privacy between sites, the overall atmosphere is peaceful, and many look forward to returning for another stay.

We had a wonderful time. The sites are close together without any privacy, but the other campers were great. The bathrooms were good and clean. There was water for our trip at the site in the bathroom buildings. We had brought in 10 gallons because we had read that there wasn't water available. But, at least for this trip there was.

This was a fabulous primitive campground. Nice big area with great views. And it was FREE. The bathroom is vault but was clean. Nice and quiet, but gotta get there early. I got the last spot (handy) luckily. There's only a few sites. There was water available.

It would be nice to have a shade shelter if possible. Bathroom was good. Tent pads were good. Plenty of picnic tables.

The Gallo Campgrounds did not disappoint. The campsite and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. The views and the ability to hike to the top of the butte behind our site was amazing!
We were able to rent all of our camping gear from https://www.sanjuancollege.edu/student-life/fitness-recreation/outdoor-equipment-rental/. This saved us from having to haul all of our gear from Arkansas to Chaco Canyon. They were extremely helpful and efficient. All of the camping gear was in great shape! I would highly recommend using them for your camping needs.
