Beautiful site, have stayed there several times. Unfortunately was not able to use the site that I'd reserved this time.
Change of plans and couldn't find a way to cancel.
Cochiti is awesome though.

I love ACE campgrounds. But I'm sad that they almost universally seem sadly neglected to the detriment of all who use them, and work/volunteer at them. Volunteers seem dedicated to make the experience work. Facilities can use some major maintenance.
Interesting--the 4:30 a.m. power outage the other morning proved what I felt to be true. The bright security lights at the ACE maintenance facility went out, revealing the beautiful night sky with a splendorous display of stars. How about working on some Dark Sky principles?
I know budget considerations and priorities probably have ACE facilities at the bottom. That's too bad! A CCC-type effort could benefit both the facilities and the people that could work for it.
The management should take the time to use the camp showers and bathrooms (assuming they don't). Minor effort/expenditures could go a long way in making these facilities decent.
In my next life I'd work as a roving ACE inspector. Thanks for what you do well despite the odds!

We were in the Juniper loop and had 2 spaces. The pros about the campground: Warm showers and a very clean bathroom; very clean campground; beautiful views; accessible drinking water; nearby lake access to boating, fishing, picnicking.
The cons about the campground: no wood fire burning (campfires is our thing)😔; things that go bump in the night (we all heard and SAW a few things that made us wonder......) 😱👻👽🐺.

This was a last minute reservation and we were pleasantly surprised. The campground is immaculate. The sites are nicely spaced. Laundromat nearby as well as a mini-mart. The Mini-mart is dry so if you like a wine or beer in the evening, shop in Santa Fe. About a half hour drive to Santa Fe. We had good cell service/WiFi, power and water. Dump site was easy to maneuver. Next time will try to stay in lower loop in order to take advantage of the lake views. We stayed for a week in a fifth wheel.
