We are locals and this is the perfect staycation! Staff is great! Facilities are clean and although you are 20 minutes from a Taco Bell you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. Peaceful and beautiful. Dog friendly is a plus for us too!

Had a wonderful weekend stay at site 73. The good: the battery pack was at 80% when we got there. running fans, lights, charging phones and battery packs...was still at 48% after 2 days. Bed was very comfy. One top sheet and thin comforter and an extra blanket if needed, perfect for July. Rained heavily one day, but we stayed dry. Campfire ring was located away from entrance to tent, but pay really close attention to the site you pick for that. Some rings were right at the front porch and I imagine would be smokey in the tent. The area was very quiet and peaceful. The staff was super friendly.
The bad: The restroom is in dire need of update. Only one sink. No electrical outlets at all. The shower was good but very hot and not adjustable! Firewood is expensive! $10 for a small bundle. Watch out for spiders. Of course this is not a sealed tent (gaps in the platform floor). There could be creepy crawlies! The cot was not comfortable. No linens for it. No wifi available and one bar of cell service at our site intermittently.

- Limit 6 people and 2 passenger vehicles (no trailers or travel trailers) at each site. Read site dimensions and driveway dimension carefully as some sites may only accomodate a single vehicle.
- This site does not allow for an additional camping unit. There is not enough room to accomodate personal trailers, pop-ups, RV units, or 5th wheels. Any person arriving with a reservation for a glamping site hauling aforementioned equipment will be asked to park the equipment off site for the duration of their stay.

Units cannot be recharged quickly (once the power unit is drained it takes 18 hours to re-charge), so guests should use the power available conservatively. Charge times for various devices are located on the units and if damage or impairment of the normal operation of the unit occurs guests will be liable.
- Due to the natural outdoor environment and the fabrics and canvas of the tent, as well as comfort for future guests, we do not allow smoking inside the tent or on the tent porch. Please also be considerate and remove dirty/muddy shoes or boots on the tent porch.
- Pets are allowed on-site. Dogs must be kept on-leash or contained and supervised for the duration of your stay. Dog fences are not allowed in the campground. Pets are not allowed on the beach.

- Fires are only permitted within established fire rings. DO NOT burn material which could contain metal objects such as nails, screws, etc...
- No personal boats are allowed on the lake.
- This campground is managed by Naventure.
- Don't Move Firewood. Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
- Swimming area open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., Memorial Day to Labor Day.
- Lake Powhatan is located in black bear territory. Visitors are expected to keep all smellable items locked away inside a camper, vehicle, or provided bear box. Visitors who do not comply with this rule may be asked to vacate the facility due to an increased risk of public safety.
