Need to fix swim beach as soon as possible. It has been unused for over a year and would be a great addition to the campground.

Nice quiet park. There are tons of BMX trails that also double as hiking trails lots of undulations and elevation changes on the trails beautiful Woods. There is abundant wildlife, including barred, owls, and coyotes. The other campers were all very well behaved, polite, and quiet.

Great campsites, clean bath houses, fun lake for boating, fishing and swimming! Take your bikes too! For a real treat stop by Dixie Doughnuts on your way in and as you leave they’re the best homemade doughnuts you’ll ever eat!

Loved how quiet it was! The site was pretty level, didn’t take much to set up at all. Bath houses were older but spotless. Cell signal is spotty, my husband wasn’t happy but I didn’t care.
We were there at the first of the week so the campground was nearly empty. If you are looking for a quiet place this is it.

Bathrooms on first loop were clean, tiled floors and water was super hot for showers. Even street light above bathrooms made it easy to find at night. Swimming area is roped off for safety and place was very quiet. Convenient to major stores like Walmart and Lowe’s with many restaurants within 6-17 miles if needed. Great base station for accessing Boone, West Jefferson and Apple orchards. Very clean, safe, and favorite places. If pulling RV recommend the sites 7-20 for ease of backing in with closer to bath house.

From Winston-Salem, North Carolina, take Highway 421 North (approximately 55 miles) to Exit 286B, turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 8 miles. Turn right immediately after crossing the bridge and follow signs to the campground.
From Charlotte, North Carolina, take I-77 North (approximately 60 miles) before merging onto Highway 421 North towards Wilkesboro/Boone, continue to Exit 286B (approximately 20 miles), turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 8 miles. Turn right immediately after crossing the bridge and follow signs to the campground.

Swim beach is closed until further notice. Frequently asked Rules and Regulations:Maximun stay is 14 days within any 30 day period. Changing names on a reservation, changing campsites, or making multiple reservations in order to stay over 14 days is prohibitied. Golden Age/Access and America the Beautiful Interagency Senior and Access Passes are accepted at this campground. Cardholders receive a 50% discount on camping fees. Cardholder must be present at of check in, show pass and ID, and camp during the entire stay. Alcoholic beverages and off-road (golf carts, 4-wheelers, etc.) are prohibited. Camping is permitted in designated campsites only, and only permitted to those who have a reservation. Most campsites have a gravel bases: bring padding for tents. All equipment much be placed within site perimeter. Quiet hours are from 10pm. to 6am. Generators and music must be cut off at 10pm. Campers/Customers should not have packages delivered to the Park.
