The overall yurt village and bathrooms were great. Unfortunately, Yurt 7 was very musty and definitely had mold. I had an asthma attack, but we made it work for one night. The linens were clean. Just the structure itself needs some deep cleaning.

We just returned from three nights at the Yurt Village, at the amazing Yurt #7 and Yurt #8. Always a wonderful retreat! We realized on this trip that it has been over twenty years now that we have been making a yearly visit to the yurt village each fall! My son has grown up (32 yo) with this being one of his favorite traditions, and we are so grateful. This village has all the feeling of being remote and quiet, while being in easy access to Bryson City and the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and, going in the late fall, gives a chance to see the beautiful leaves and have it be extra quiet. The haunting sound of a real steam engine train whistle across the gorge in the morning is truly special! Yes, it can be chilly; but the extra blankets and small heater make this a comfortable stay, and the entire village is well maintained. As others have noted, there is a lovely “bathhouse” with four tiled bathrooms (for eight yurts), well maintained, with heaters and hot showers, and nice towels. I would request that you consider changing out the mattresses a bit more often (acknowledging that after > 20 years I am probably feeling it more than many). For individuals (feels very safe), couples, and families, this is really a wonderful place to visit and relax!

We stayed in the yurt village. Everything was clean and comfortable. There were private bathrooms stocked with toiletries and linens. The staff was all very nice. Definitely recommend!

Went zip lining for the first time ever here. My guides Colby and Berkeley were super personable and took great care of us while guiding and teaching us the proper way to zip line. I also really enjoyed how they also gave us some history lessons of the area and facts about the nature of the Smokies. This is a really cool course and it’s amazing how well designed it is. It may seem a little nerve-racking as a first timer, but they made me feel safe and I had a blast. I’ll definitely be returning when I’m in the area again!

The staff was super friendly and down to earth but also very professional and knew what they were doing. Not too much hiking in between ziplines, we were zipping from one tree to the next week ease. Sky bridges were okay. Blake was the best guide and his partners were also super awesome. Water was on the tour as we went which was very convenient. We will definitely be back again for the canopy tours !!
