What Guests Are Saying
Big Bear's RV Park offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with great neighbors and a convenient location just minutes from Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Guests appreciate the cleanliness of the campground and the helpfulness of owner Bryan, who goes above and beyond to assist visitors. While there are some concerns about the limited bathroom facilities and pricing, the overall experience is highly positive, making it a recommended spot for RV travelers.

Lived here in our RV from November 2023 until this week. We got a new-to-us house in Bryson City, which is home for us now. Enjoyed our time at BIG BEAR'S a lot. Lived up on 'the hill side' (as opposed to 'creek side'. IYKYK) with a few other full-time residents and most of the permanent seasonal folks. Great neighbors. Really quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Close enough to town to be there in under five minutes drive, but away from all the normal traffic and tourist-season busy-ness. Always know when GSMR was coming and going. 😆. Love hearing the train whistles. Brian's a good guy, lifelong resident, with a head full of local knowledge. Come to BIG BEAR'S, enjoy your stay in the mountains. Be well.

If I could give 10 stars I would! We were making our first trip through the mountains in a new motor coach and by the time we reached Bryson City it was getting dark. I was too nervous to finish the trip to Pigeon Forge in the dark on another winding mountain road. We called and spoke to the owner, Bryan, even though they were closed, I explained the situation and he not only gave us directions to get there but was waiting at the entrance to guide us to our spot. We liked the little town so much we decided to stay there instead of going to Pigeon Forge. The next day we were going to have to unhook to drive to town in the motor coach. We texted Bryan to ask about parking and he offered to run me to town! He has got to be one of the nicest people I have ever met! If you find yourself near Bryson City, stop into Big Bear RV Park. I’m definitely coming back to see some attractions that aren’t open this time of year. Great little town, great RV park! I can’t recommend this place enough!

This was a good campground.
The location was really good. You're about five minutes from the Deep Creek entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The stars at night are amazing.
If you rely on starlink like we do, you're in luck. There are no obstructions for your dish.
The campground is clean and well kept. Terry took good care of us. At least I think that was his name, the gentleman who supports the Cowboys and South Carolina.
The only thing taking a star off is the lack of bathrooms and the price. You get good value but not great value.

We just spent 5 nights here. Bryan the owner was so nice. Our space was creekside, large, gravel with electric, water and sewer. Our doodle loved playing in the fields. Very quiet and relaxing. Close to downtown Bryson City. We were able to day trips to Cherokee, Maggie Valley and we rode the Great Smoky Mtn Railroad! We will definitely be back.

Fantastic campground!!!! Owner is super nice and helpful. The campground is very neat, clean, well taken care of and a lot of nice area for walking your pets. We brought our toy hauler and our motorcycles. We planned to stay 3 weeks but liked it so well we ended up staying a month The campsites are big and nicely graveled. Each site has a nice picnic table and fire pit. The owner might sell you some firewood. We didn’t get a site right on the river but every site in the campground is close and just a short walk to the water for fly fishing, tubing or just hanging out. You can rent tubes from the owner. We were About 5 min drive to/from Bryson City and about 10 min to/from National Forest and nice waterfall paths for hiking. We felt very centrally located for all of the awesome motorcycle rides, and all of the things we wanted to do around the area. Highly recommend this campground and we plan to be back next year and every summer thereafter!!!!
