The hosts were great. And the campsite was great but the road in is poor. In fact I was towing my car behind the RV and the PCV valve on the car engine clogged up from all the dust.

This is a really family friendly campground. The bathrooms are clean. The showers are hot. The camp hosts are always fantastic. The short walk to the river is amazing. Not to mention the waterfall, that’s a 20 minute hike away from the campground.

Remote, quiet, beautiful, peaceful, & clean. Special thanks to our hostess who recommended some great hiking trails. Our experience was improved 100% because of her.

No cell service at all. Be sure you know where you are going once you hit the gravel road. There’s a u turn in it that could be confusing. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Hosts were friendly and made sure everyone knew to keep campsites clean to avoid bear issues. There’s a river that’s perfect for kids wading and a larger swimming hole too.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds in WNC. Lots of great hiking and cycling accessible. Dip in the South Toe to cool off! Sites are decently graded, with upgraded picnic tables and fire rings. Absolutely NO cell phone signal, so prepare to unplug. Most sites can accommodate two vehicles and two large tents.
My only gripe with my recent visit is that the cleanliness of bathrooms has gone downhill since last year. Last year the campground hosts cleaned the bathrooms every morning before anyone woke up and they were immaculate. This year they didn't clean them until mid-morning and they were still pretty gross. I realize this level of service will vary year-to-year as hosts rotate, but I think there needs to be a higher baseline standard.

Beautiful location with hiking trails right from the campground. Delightfully quiet and peaceful! Camp hosts are friendly and helpful with local area. Directions to the campground entrance could be improved. The area has obviously had more residential development and inadvertent turns in the dark led to the need for backing down roads in the dark with a camper trailer.
