This is one of my favorite campgrounds. Close to the cost but far enough away to avoid the madness of being right on the coast. The hosts were very friendly and the campground maintained in excellent condition.

Very nice park with easy to navigate roads and large sites. Electic only but the water and dump station is nice and convenient. Most of the sites have a lot of shade. Mine didn’t (13 or 31?). Great hiking trail nearby into the salt marsh. Emerald Isle beach is beautiful and feels more like a locals beach.

We stayed on site 31 in May for 1 week. We utilized the bathhouse frequently. We’re a family of 5 and never had to dump other than when we left. Site 31 is not a shady site as the website states. If it had been summer it would’ve been very difficult for our A/C to keep up. There is a large grassy area that surrounds this site & this is the primary reason we chose this site. You cannot put a tent in the grass on any site in the park. This was disappointing as our oldest son had to put his tent in full sun instead of under a tree. The large grassy area was used as a pathway by every camper below us to get to the bathhouse. There is no path, just grass. No problem but our dogs aren’t used to that & it was annoying as I didn’t anticipate that happening. The bathrooms were ok but not cleaned while we were there. The men’s room didn’t like to flush so they went in the handicap but had to go to the men’s room to wash their hands as the faucet didn’t work in the handicap. The showers are separate rooms but the actual shower needs some attention. It was a push button & you’re unable to adjust the temperature. It was either cold or scalding hot. Only spoke with the one host who was very friendly & helpful. Lovely canoe/kayak trail we failed to know about but will definitely take advantage of next time. Hiked the 1.6 mile loop trail & it was awesome! Highly recommend. Not difficult & excellent views. Lots of space between almost every site. Will definitely go back but I have my list of sites that I’d prefer next time.
