Beautiful spacious sites, with great trails and Kayak launch. Enjoyed paddling the backwaters and going to Swansboro. A perfect blend of nature with city amenities.

Top two attributes for this campground are: location and quiet. Quick access to Emerald Isle and excellent beaches, along with Hammock Beach State Park with some nice trails and ferry to Bear Island, as well as great kayak routes. There's also a ramp just down the road for canoe and kayak put-in, and a decent walking trail. Pine Knoll Aquarium is 30 minutes away; fun for the kids. And the site is VERY quiet. For those with kids, plenty of open area in the central sites for them to play. Bath house could use some attention - I know it's early in the season, but there was no hot water in the bathrooms and showers were cool, not warm or hot. One stall in the men's room (of two), has issues, with a sign indicating it must be flushed multiple times. There is only one dumpster on-site, no trash cans, so when it's full (as it was), that can be frustrating. Our fire ring was full of ash and debris on arrival. Basically, a little attention to detail and maintenance would move this up to 4-5 stars.

The sites were very spacious and level. Great sunsets over the water just a short walk or bike ride away. The trails are nice, and the area is very clean.
Although it's a good distance away you could hear cars on a nearby highway, so you're not as secluded as the campground feels. The bathhouse could also use more frequent cleaning. There were two occasions where my wife and daughter chose to shower in the camper due to the condition of the showers. The bathrooms are heated & the shower rooms are not, which also made it less appealing. Overall, a very nice & spacious campground.

Lovely campground. The campsites are widely spaced, paved, level, with electric hookup. Water fill and dump station are easily accessible, with water faucets also scattered around the campground. Hosts are very friendly and helpful and do an amazing job making sure the location is in tiptop shape. Bathhouse is very clean and in great shape. Cell service was excellent. There are many things to do in the area, but we especially love the Tideland Trail within walkable distance. We walked that trail nearly every day. We stayed in site #14.

Beautiful campground and we enjoyed our campsite! We enjoyed walking to the Tideland Trail close by and seeing the salt marsh and some animals in the water! We can’t wait to come back! Our visit was March 2023
