The park is nice, however there was not enough rangers present and people were not made / or told to put dogs on a leash.

The presence of many ticks, made for a stressful time at our campsite. There were no other campsites available. Since we had a group of friends camping in the same area, we decided to stay on our site. I got several tick bites.
There was no place, during my campsite ordering process, to use my America the Beautiful lifetime pass, to receive 50% off of the price of our campsite charge. We realized the discount, upon reading it on an entrance sign to the campground.
Afterwards, I contacted recreation.gov, who sent my request for a 50% refund to the Frisco campground. I attempted calling the campground several times, with no-one answering. Very frustrating! I hope the Frisco Campground will email me, so we can finally receive our America the Beautiful lifetime pass discount refund.

Incredible amount of ticks, cactus, and sand spurs. Watch your dogs closely not only will they get ticks but they will get cacti stuck in them. You will need netting or 30% deet to sit outside. Could not imagine being in a tent.

Nice wooded campground near the beach. Our campsite had trees and we pitched our tent in the shade. It was about a quarter mile to the ocean. we enjoyed our stay.

This is the most beautiful campground on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and certainly one of the nicest I have ever camped in!

Very helpful and friendly hosts as well as National Park Service employees. Worked very hard to make sure that I was satisfied and safe in camping location. Ended up moving tent to three sites to find place where tent would not blow away due to intense 4 day storm.

North (From Richmond, VA)
Follow I-95 South to Richmond, VA. Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. Take I-64 or I-664 to Chesapeake, VA. From I-64, take Exit 291B to Route 168, the Chesapeake Expressway (a toll-road costing $3.00 - $6.00 each way). Once in North Carolina, Route 168 turns into US-158 East. Follow US-158 East through Nags Head, NC to the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South through the villages of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and Buxton. Once you reach Frisco take a left on Billy Mitchell Road and proceed to the campground.
West (From Rocky Mount, NC)
Follow US-64 East through Tarboro, Williamston, Plymouth, Columbia, and Manteo, crossing the Alligator River Bridge and the Virginia Dare Bridge. Keep going on US-64 East to Nags Head, NC, going over the Washington Baum Bridge, to the junction of NC-12 South. Turn right onto NC-12 South and you will be at the north entrance to Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Continue on NC-12 South through the villages of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and Buxton. Once you reach Frisco take a left on Billy Mitchell Road and proceed to the campground.
South (From Florence, SC)
Take I-95 North to Wilson, NC. Take US-264 East through Greenville, NC and Washington, NC. From Washington, NC, take US-17 to Williamston and follow US-64 East to Nags Head, NC and the junction of NC-12 South. (For an alternate route to NC-12 South, continue on I-95 North to Rocky Mount, NC. Take US-64 East through Tarboro, Williamston, Plymouth, Columbia, and Manteo, crossing the Alligator River Bridge and the Virginia Dare Bridge.
