It was really nice. Like most places in outer banks you should bring sandals because sand spurs and eastern prickly pears are everywhere. If you are prepared this place can be really nice and the facility is well kept. Neighbors were all peaceful and quiet but I’m sure that can change from week to week

What a gorgeous night - I came in pretty late at night and it was very easy to find the location of my campground with the helpful pictures on the booking website. The lack of light pollution made for amazing stargazing - it was the very beginning of the Perseids and I casually saw 2 shooting stars and could see the Milky Way. I would recommend to anyone who wants to see a more secluded side of the Outer Banks - I woke up early in the morning and went to Pea Island. There were so few other people there that it felt like a private beach - a private moment between the ocean and myself.

Good as usual, except the shower. The non-handicap shower in C loop was ridiculously warm and had been like that during the last two summers. Not exactly what you want after a long day on the beach and the summer heat. In years past, it wasn't like that until October. Turn the hot water heater off in C loop until October!

Campground was quiet, clean, with well kept showers and bathrooms. Better signage needed for the water supply and dump station -- took some effort to find across the road.

We spent 9 days at the campground and it has some of the cleanest bathrooms and showers I have ever seen. You can walk or drive to the beach. Make sure you bring bug spray midges are terrible.

We popped down for a quick weekend. The campground is always nice, The bathhouses are clean and the outdoor showers are refreshing. Close to the 4wd beach. Only complaint this year were the insane amount of mosquitos.

We picked a fantastic campsite! Loved the open view looking towards the dune and seeing the moon rise each night. The location of the campground is nice, it's not on the main drag so it feels pretty remote. The new marina is VERY nice, stocked with most things you'll need. Very convenient to have the dump out station set up with gas pumps too! Having water and electric is a huge plus too! The campground was quiet, bathrooms mostly clean (a bit dated), and the outdoor showers were great! I love the breeze blowing in the shower stall, just adds to the beachy feel. We will definitely be back, and will try the off season.

North (From Richmond, VA)
Follow I-95 South to Richmond, VA. Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. Take I-64 or I-664 to Chesapeake, VA. From I-64, take Exit 291B to Route 168, the Chesapeake Expressway (a toll-road costing $3.00- $6.00 each way). Once in North Carolina, Route 168 turns into US-158 East. Follow US-158 East through Nags Head, NC to the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
West (From Rocky Mount, NC)
Follow US-64 East through Tarboro, Williamston, Plymouth, Columbia, and Manteo, crossing the Alligator River Bridge and the Virginia Dare Bridge. Keep going on US-64 East to Nags Head, NC, going over the Washington Baum Bridge, to the junction of NC-12 South. Turn right onto NC-12 South and you will be at the north entrance. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
South (From Florence, SC)
Take I-95 North to Wilson, NC. Take US-264 East through Greenville, NC and Washington, NC. From Washington, NC, take US-17 to Williamston and follow US-64 East to Nags Head, NC and the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
Oregon Inlet Campground is accessible via NC-12 South, which connects to US-158 East and is reached from I-64 and US-64. US-64 provides access from the west, while US-158 serves as a primary route from the north and east.

Policies & Rules
General
- All campsites are exposed and subject to weather extremes. There are no shaded sites in the campground.
- Camping is limited to a total of 14 days of camping between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Making reservations under another name or account to circumvent the 14 day restriction is prohibited.
- Generators must be turned off during quiet hours.
- Wood fires are not permitted in the campground. Only charcoal cooking fires are permitted in a grill, stove, or other self-contained unit.
- A fire may be ignited and maintained only by using fuel sources designed and commonly used for warmth or the preparation of food, such as charcoal briquettes or natural firewood. Lighting or maintaining a fire with other materials including, but not limited to, flammable liquids, garbage, fireworks, plastics, aerosol canisters, batteries, or other manufactured or synthetic materials, is prohibited.
- All equipment must fit on the site pad; large RVs over 25 feet may have to park second vehicles in auxiliary parking away from the campground, or purchase an additional campsite. Vehicles cannot park on the grass.
- Biting insects are prevalent in the summer months, therefore netting and repellent are recommended.
- There is a limit of 6 persons per site, a maximum of 2 cars, or 1 car and 1 trailer, and a maximum of two tents.
- The Access Pass and both the Senior Annual and Senior Lifetime Pass are the only passes that provide a discount on the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party. The discount does not apply to utility hookups. The pass discount must be applied at the time of the reservation; it cannot be applied retroactively.
