Walking to the beach is challenging especially when hauling stuff or charts but there is a path and it’s doable. Beach becomes a parking lot. Mosquitoes were out in force in the evenings. Our site had water and electricity. Bathrooms were nice with flush toilets. Easy drive to civilization with restaurants and activities.

A beautiful location to enjoy the beach. We loved the proximity to the lovely beaches. We had water and electric and enjoyed that. Our only complaint is the dump station being across the highway.

Sites were close together, but location was excellent. Enjoyed a ride along the coast to see the dunes. Also, enjoyed the Wright Brother's memorial.

The location was wonderful. The price was fabulous. The hot showers and restrooms were much appreciated. Our pup loved the sand dunes and hiking trails. Our only (very small) issue was the distance to the beach. Lovely sand dunes protect the coast and campground so we can’t really complain.

We stayed at site 11-A. It was on the ocean side of the park. It was a 5 min walk up the dunes to the beach. The showers/bathrooms were across the street about 2 min walk. I was expecting a cold shower, but the water was warm! Bring bug spray, they came out at sunset and in the early morning. And make sure you wear shoes at the site. There are sand spurs. We stayed end of May. Would 10/10 go back!

Good location across from Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. There is a crosswalk but no sidewalk along Rte.12 - very dangerous. Should be better/safer pedestrian route from campground to fishing center.

Beach was just over the dunes. Was blustery and cool for our first night but warmed the next day. Cell service was pretty good. Showers were outdoor shower enclosures next to the restrooms. Really convenient location to enjoy beach, see lighthouses, Wright Bros. Memorial and other local fun stuff.

North (From Richmond, VA)
Follow I-95 South to Richmond, VA. Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. Take I-64 or I-664 to Chesapeake, VA. From I-64, take Exit 291B to Route 168, the Chesapeake Expressway (a toll-road costing $3.00- $6.00 each way). Once in North Carolina, Route 168 turns into US-158 East. Follow US-158 East through Nags Head, NC to the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
West (From Rocky Mount, NC)
Follow US-64 East through Tarboro, Williamston, Plymouth, Columbia, and Manteo, crossing the Alligator River Bridge and the Virginia Dare Bridge. Keep going on US-64 East to Nags Head, NC, going over the Washington Baum Bridge, to the junction of NC-12 South. Turn right onto NC-12 South and you will be at the north entrance. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
South (From Florence, SC)
Take I-95 North to Wilson, NC. Take US-264 East through Greenville, NC and Washington, NC. From Washington, NC, take US-17 to Williamston and follow US-64 East to Nags Head, NC and the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.

Camping is limited to a total of 14 days of camping between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Making reservations under another name or account to circumvent the 14 day restriction is prohibited. |

Quiet hours are 10:00 pm - 6:00 am - Generators must be turned off during quiet hours. |

Wood fires are not permitted in the campground. Only charcoal cooking fires are permitted in a grill, stove, or other self-contained unit. |

All equipment must fit on the site pad; large RVs over 25 feet may have to park second vehicles in auxiliary parking away from the campground, or purchase an additional campsite. Vehicles cannot park on the grass. |
