We loved our campsites and the amenities provided, namely restrooms, fire pits, and water! We took advantage of 2 hikes directly from our campsites so the convenience was very nice! Overall it was a fantastic camping experience!

Quiet campground, with a creek running along side it. The bathrooms are clean, and the camp hosts were really nice! Definitely no cell signal out there, but you don’t miss it. The road leading up to it is a dirt road so there are some bumps along the way, and one lane bridges, just as something to keep in mind. I definitely recommend this campground, and will stay again!

Stayed at site 9. Lots of room. Unfortunately it is downwind of the vault toilets and it was a busy weekend so the smell would waft over.

I stayed at Campsite 1. The sites were a little difficult to find at first, as some of the sites are on the road leading up to the check in station. The sites were pretty minimal, which was great for what I was looking for. Site 1 had trash cans, picnic table and fire pit. No water pump unfortunately. The bathroom was right across the way, but it was pretty filthy unfortunately.
The site was nice and private though, and the creek running next to the campgrounds provided excellent white noise during our stay. The road leading up to the sites was a little sketchy, and had some pot holes. You could get around them with the proper maneuvering though.
In summary, if you're looking for a private, quiet ground that is minimalistic and is within 30 minutes of some great hiking, this is a good place to stay.

Nice, quiet, well maintained campground. Not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt Mitchell, Asheville and some nice hiking trails. There is no phone service, no running water, and no electric.

This is a great little campsite close to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The campsites vary depending on which one you choose. At the top, there is a large open field that have tent pads spaced out. In the middle, there’s a loop with campsites that would cater for RVs also. At the bottom along the river are tent pads that would only suit tents. There are toilets but no showers. Fresh water is available too. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table. The weekend we stayed there wasn’t a campground host but I’m guessing that was maybe due to it being after Labor Day weekend. There are a number of trails in the area also but we didn’t have time to check them out. If you continue on the road on up past the campground, it’ll take you to the blue ridge parkway. The sky is beautiful on a clear night and noise of the running river nearby makes this an enjoyable place to stay.
