Flanners Beach Campground

Nice quiet campground with adequately sized sites. Bath house facilities very clean and in excellent order. Lovely picnic grounds and trails.

Lovely place. Small, quiet, private campsites, nice clean bath house. Hosts were exceptional.... helpful, friendly. They quickly identified a maintenance issue during our visit, working hard to resolve. The regional Croatan National Forest staff needs to step up on their side; restrooms near tent area have been out of service for several years.

Easy check in process. Clean bathrooms. Overall an excellent experience even if the beach access is closed. If you expect full hookups and all the fixins...you need to go elsewhere and leave this little slice of heaven for the rest of us.

The hosts were so pleasant. They made our stay excellent. We will be coming back for sure.

We would tell you to ignore the negative reviews. This is just a campground with no camp office, store or specific place to check-in. There is a gate (unlocked) with a sign asking campers with reservations to call/text the host upon arrival. The gate is squeaky when moved to enter/leave, meaning no one can sneak in. Many of the sites offer some privacy from their neighbors and a few do not. The campground has minimal lighting allowing good night skies. The bathhouse feels neglected and not maintained but at least the showers have great water pressure. The paths into the woods are well marked and easy walking. The hurricane in 2018 took down a terrible amount of trees and destroyed safe access to the beach which is down a cliff edge. The park is clearly lacking the resources to repair the damage and thus the beach is closed. Skip this park it's too basic a campground. The host family at the gate kept to themselves and the other host was a helpful resource when asked.

Beautiful place. Quiet & clean. Definitely would camp here again.

Love this small campground. Some of the best hiking/running trails around. Access to the river still not established (damaged during hurricane Florence) but cliff top views are great. Close access to New Bern. We return at least annually. Staff are always great and the facilities are clean.

Beautiful site, clean campground, fantastic host. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Will return. Wonderful trails. Only sad thing Beach was closed and could not access it due to hurricane damage. Visit 02/2023

The campground is clean, well-kept, quiet and beautiful. The checkin process for FCFS sites it’s super easy and you are able to pay via credit card if you don’t have cash. Jackie, one of the campground hosts, was very friendly and informative. Highly recommend!

Spacious, level sites. Feels private and secluded from neighboring sites. Great spot for an inexpensive weekend off-grid.
