Flannels Beach is delightful, but it is a shame users cannot see the river. Was great to hear the Canada geese coming and goingtho.

Flanner’s Beach is one of our favorite campgrounds. Walking the paved trails is so pleasant and peaceful. We enjoy visiting New Bern, especially BrÜtopia, Surf Wind and Fire, and the new Firefly Cafe. The Saturday Farmer’s Market is absolutely amazing! Beaufort is also a short drive.

The camp host was very friendly and helpful. Some lots are much bigger then others. There are lots of tree coverage, so not really suitable for campers with solar. The facilities could be better, painted and cleaned more often.

Stayed at Site # 7 for 4 nights. We had NO complaints or issues with the campground or area. Glad to see that it's still possible to get down to the river, always enjoy walking the trails. Havelock, the free ferry across the river, and New Bern are all very close and worthwhile trips.
We've stayed at this campground several times and look forward to our next time there.

I visit this campground each year in September as my home base as a Volunteer for the MS 150 Bike Fundraiser. I love the campground its locality to New Bern and you can't beat the price. Very quiet here too. My only complaint is the fire pits. As a veteran camper part of my enjoyment is our campfire. The replacement pits that were put in after Hurricane Floyd are an abomination. They are literally 3.5 feet of solid steel. You have to be 1.5 feet from the pit to actually see your fire. Not to mention that they are not cleaned out of a regular basis so there is 2 feet of soot and ash, other peoples burnt food and scraps piling up. The good news of this is if they don't clean them, you actually get to watch your fire. its just 3.5 off the ground. What is the point?
