Bath facilities were not up to par. Bathrooms were hot and covered in bugs and mosquitoes. It was difficult to get to the beach. We had a family next to us that kept us awake. We actually left one day earlier than planned. I wouldn't stay there again, especially in the summer.

Myself, and two of my grandsons and one of their friends came down to camp for three nights and fish. We had a really good time. It was enjoyable made some good memories didn’t really catch that many fish, but will be back in September but all in all it was really fun.

Great little campground with close beach access. Scout around for sites...we found some with plenty of space and others closer together. Overall we really liked this campground.

Ocracoke island can't be beat, and the campground accommodates well. Be sure your screens are no-see-um mesh! I do wish some of the campground was no-generators. They overpower the sound of the beach, and smell bad.

Ocracoke is our favorite place to travel to every year. We were married on the beach 18 years ago. I would have given our experience there this year 5 stars but didn’t due the ongoing problem with generators. The rules regarding generators are clearly stated on the registration site and in the information provided when checking in to your site.
However, there is only a tiny sign at the entrance to loop D. People continue to ignore the rules and run generators. One guy hid it in the back of his truck and ran a power cord to his screen house to run an air conditioner. We come to Ocracoke to enjoy the ocean environment, not to listen to generators. Please put up a bigger sign and actively enforce the rules.
I could go on about people bringing dogs and setting up fences but I won’t press my luck for now.
Please do something about the generators. Thanks

While I still love this campground and will continue to stay at it, I do hope some changes can be brought back. Pre-pandemic there were sections only for tent camping and now it seems that it’s just open to everyone. Being stuck between generators that ran from sunrise to 10pm was less than ideal, normally you can hear the ocean from your campsite instead I got to listen to diesel fuel being churned 12+ hours a day. Additionally, there needs to be a bug zapper in the bathroom facilities. The amount of gnats and mosquitoes made it a war zone and getting eaten alive while trying to use the restroom was another tick in a sore experience. Another long time camper said that the grounds used to get sprayed and if they did I see why, being out after dark was miserable unlike in years past where some bug spray would do the job, this was on another level. Of course the ease of check-in, clean campsite, and close proximity to the beach was wonderful, but I honestly don’t know if I’ll be back until I can bring my own camper if that seems to be the way things are trending.

Great campground for the ocean beach. This campground should get top priority to install electric at the sites. What's the hold up ?
