Black Dog Acres RV Park

Amazing, family-friendly campground! The sites are large, level, and well-maintained, which made setup a breeze. The mountain views are absolutely gorgeous—perfect to wake up to each morning. The kids loved the playground, and the shelter was a great spot to share meals and make memories with friends. Highly recommend for families and anyone looking for beautiful scenery and a welcoming atmosphere!

Absolutely amazing campground. We stayed for Thanksgiving with family. Owners were on top of making sure are fresh water tank was full on the really cold nights. As soon as a trash bag was out at the road they picked it up. Beautiful views, amazing large campsites. Kids enjoyed the playground and even fished in the pond. Highly recommend this campground and we will be returning in the warmer months.

We had a very enjoyable three nights at this relatively new campground. We enjoyed talking with Meredith and her husband about how they took the little details that they liked about other campgrounds where they have stayed and included with theirs. The orchard trees are tiny but come from heritage stock, which was great for preserving our apple trees. They had a lot of fun Halloween weekend activities for the kids, and it was awesome to see the adults get into the spirit as much as the kids. The WiFi was the best we have ever had — didn’t even need the Starlink. The park is perfectly located between Pilot Mtn and Hanging Rock state parks, and there are lots of outdoor activities nearby. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful 4 nights at Black Dog in October 2025. The sites are very spacious with plenty of room for our tow vehicle. The owners were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We had no issues with power and services (although I cannot comment on WiFi as we have Starlink). They are a working farm and sell fresh eggs and grass-fed beef & pork. Great location for exploring - we visited Pilot Mountain, drove the Blue Ridge Parkway, explored the numerous wineries in the area, including our favorite JoLo Winery. If you have a chance, also visit the Divine Llama Vineyards - the llamas were adorable and the wine was great too.

We are coming to the end of our 1st camping experience here at this beautiful campground. And our experience? It's been outstanding!! Very friendly owners and such a well maintained campground. Extra wide cites so you're not on top of your neighbor. If you want to enjoy NC's beautiful mountains and want to have a relaxing and friendly atmosphere, come here.
