Davidson River

Enjoyed the campground and area very much. The road noise from the trucks going up and down the road from early morning until well in the evening was disappointing and ruined the environment for us.

Location is great. Staff is nice. Bathrooms and showers need updating.

Always a great camping experience at Davidson River Campground. Clean bathrooms, hiking and cycling trails, restaurants and breweries. Also offers access to Nantahala Preserve and Dupont forest.

Excellent campground - Clean showers and restrooms, helpful gate staff, nice location, weak or no phone signal, and safe environment. Many of the site driveways are not level at all.

Excellent facilities. The campsite, showers, and restrooms were spotlessly clean. The staff is very helpful and nice. Just a few steps to excellent fly fishing spots. Great long-distance hiking or biking trails available directly from the campground. Only 1.8 mile hike to the Waffle House, Hawg Wild BBQ, and Pisgah Tavern. The 31 mile Art Loeb trail starts at the campground. Great opportunities for staying active, yet just a 5-10 min drive to great Brevard restaurants.

This is such a great campground. So much to do. While the facilities are a little dated, the hosts do an outstanding job of keeping everything clean and serviceable. Staff, hosts and park employees were all incredibly friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning.

What an amazing time as always.
We loving camping at Davidson River. We were close to all kinds of hiking trails our pup and 5 year old son were able to enjoy. The paved drives make it easy to get around. Our son was confident enough to take off his training wheels!!! We’ll be back soon!!!

Great spot for camping! Clean bathroom and shower! We will definitely come back in the future!

Campground: The staff at Davidson River CG was extremely nice and helpful. Almost too nice, you know, like there's something in the water. No complaints here though, they welcomed us warmly every time we entered and offered help when needed. Campground is well maintained and close to everything you would love about Brevard. It's right on the road that leads to most waterfalls and it's still close to the main road and town.

Site 6 on Sycamore Loop: We thought this site was really great. It's easy to get into and has nice privacy on the camper door side. We arrived after dark and had absolutely no problem backing in and setting up in about 10 minutes. The site backs up right to the exercise trail and river. You can see the river from the site, but a 50' walk through the woods has you there. You can hear it as you sit around the fire. Go to the trail, turn right, and 100' down you are at the main entrance road and the head of the Art Loeb Trail. It's a great site. The bathhouse is right in the middle of the loop and, though it's only one seat and one shower, we didn't have to wait much and they were relatively clean. If we come back to Davidson River and we don't try to find a site with full hookups, site 6 on Sycamore we will look for this site.

Clean campground, large camping sites. Very safe.
