Good campground location, but the bathrooms are not being maintained. The one in Sycamore wasn’t as bad as the one in Dogwood loop. That one desperately needs to be redone and it was deplorable. No one was cleaning it, and they only had one out of the two bathrooms open so it was being heavily used. Folks Wood been coming there for years said that it is no longer being maintained properly since it’s been taken care of by a private entity. We also never saw anybody driving around checking campsites, in between people coming and going.

Warm showers close to the campsite. Plenty of room for your tents and gear they just ask you keep it on gravel. Nice little fire pit we had 3 tents with no problem.

We love camping here in the off-season. It’s still busy but not as busy as summer and hosts are friendly and helpful. The $8 booking fee seems high compared to other campgrounds we visit and book through recreation.gov

I loved everything about this campground. The sites are kept immaculate. Everything is clearly marked. All the restrooms were in good working order with hot showers. Really enjoyed hearing the river behind camp every night while I went to bed. I also really loved having access to trails directly in camp, it made it a great place for me and my three dogs. I would say the one drawback in my opinion is that there is nowhere to wash dishes if you are tent camping. I guess the reason is because there are so many bears in the area although we never saw any, but I did hear that they came into other peoples camps on a nightly basis. Just don’t be stupid and leave out stuff that attracts bears. Also, the staff were great. Always willing to help and answer any questions. I’m actually going back in four weeks because this part of North Carolina has stolen my heart.

Site worked well and the staff was friendly as always. Very comfortable campground.

Great place to camp in order to ride your bike up to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Very nice campsite with nice facilities and great location. Has become very popular year round; so more and more crowded with fewer and fewer first come first served sites.

The park is beautiful, the surrounding trails amazing, both hike or bike. Enjoyed Palm Sunday service at the peaceful English Chapel. Gate staff was so friendly. An extra shout out to NICOLE for help maneuvering the reservation system for a site change with patience. Her words, “you’re as important as the next person” will stay with me always.
