Badin Lake Campground offers beautiful, quiet campsites with easy access to the lake and scenic trails, making it a popular choice for families and solo campers alike. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and respectful neighbors, with several expressing their intention to return. However, there are consistent concerns regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the bathrooms and showers, along with issues related to parking and management that could be improved.

While I appreciated that this campsite was convenient and near the water, the grounds and surrounding area were not well maintained. The toilets needed cleaning, and at least 1 stall ran out of toilet paper in just the one night we camped. I would greatly appreciate it if the camp hosts cracked down on undesirable behavior, as we saw campers burning trash at their site as well as leaving large bags of trash both at their site and around smaller receptacles, rather than just dumping trash in the nearby dumpster.
What made this trip most unpleasant, though, was the sad state of the Badin Lake Trail, which we hiked with our dogs the morning before we left. I highly recommend Forest Service rangers patrol the northern area of this loop above Kings Mountain Point. There were camp sites set up directly on the trail and trash everywhere. It was very extremely unpleasant to hike through that area and in dire need of cleaning up.

2nd trip. Already have a 3rd book for this year and one for next year. My only complaint is there are no quiet hours or cut off for arrivals it seems.... the folks beside us at site 16 near the dumpster showed up after midnight and set up their 3 tents using car headlights until 1:45am... with loud voices... they heard me unzip the tent to see what was going on and they did quiet down a bit without me having to voice my opinion, but that was simply rude.

First time camping. Solo 20 year old female. Felt very safe the entire time. Bathrooms were as you would expect from a campground. Campsite was absolutely gorgeous. Very easy to back into, short walk to bathroom and water spigot, and right on the lake. Absolutely loved it. Neighboring campsites are very close but everyone was respectful of their volume. There was a random cat though. Not sure if a camper brought it or if it is just there. Thankfully my dog is highly trained and it didn't cause an issue. Highly recommend and we will be back!

It was my first time at this campsite so I wasn't expecting that there was no parking spaces available for the bathroom or shower. And the one bathroom closest to the site I rented was always locked even when unoccupied so I can only assume the camp host decided that he wanted one of the 2 bathrooms for himself. Also my girlfriend told me that the ladies bathroom was out of toilet paper. Just some things to keep in mind.

Had a great time loved the site, very quiet. The only thing I would recommend would be the showers be redone. A lot of standing water.
