Nice little campground tucked away in the mountain. The area wasn't crowded at all and was calm and quiet. The drive up can be tricky but very doable. It is a long stretch of gravel road that we could do comfortably in our 2WD hatchback. Go early morning towards the valley if you want to see the elk and butterflies. Two gas stations at the base of the mountain have firewood and other essential supplies. Stock up as there is nothing on the mountain.

Without a doubt the best campground I’ve ever set foot on, the staff are accommodating and helpful, and the guests are helpful to one another. My group was given firewood on one occasion and food on another even though we already had both, simply because others felt generous. We definitely returned the favor when we left.

This campground provided a lovely quiet space for us to relax and unwind at. The wildlife here was phenomenal as were the fellow campers. There’s a safe little creek to cool off in right at the campsites. We also enjoyed viewing the older buildings from when there were once people living in the area a hundred years ago!
