Very Nice campground. Nothing too special, but just very pleasant. No showers, but that wasn't a big deal. Having a wash sink, flush toilets, and sinks was a plus. We were in site 10- quite a large setup & close to the stream, which was nice. About a 3/4 walk down the road gets you to the Palmer house where you will see many elk. We also saw a bear at the stream & a rattlesnake in the field. Very quiet area as far as people- but a good amount of wildlife.

Quiet, beautiful place. Saw many mushrooms, some elks. There is a creek right by the campground, the water is refreshing. The bridges to the trails closeby were broken, but crossing the creek was fun. Careful if it rains. Bathrooms were clean.

Fantastic campground and site. Little creek behind and plenty of space from other campers. Good distance to the bathrooms and close to a spigot. There’s a road behind but not super close and there aren’t many cars.

We love the remote feeling at Cataloochee. The sites are big and you’re not on top of your neighbor. The drive-in, however, is not for the faint of heart!

Great place. Relatively small campground. But it was so cosy in the evening, like a small village with everyone being so close . And fireflies and wild elks is what we cane for! The whole area is pretty remote. There are no showers but bathrooms pretty clean. Our host Charlie was welcoming and nice. We had great time there and would come again!
