everything was perfect as usual. a little rain, cool temps, saw elk and bears. hostess very nice. we'll be back.

Always enjoy my stays here! I’ve been here quite a few times. No hook ups or showers, but water is available in the campground. I plan on returning for more visits.

Quiet, beautiful campground. Sites on outer loop are spacious. Site 3 is perfect. Nice bathroom facilities. Nothing better than staying in the valley!

The campground hosts were very helpful and appeared to enjoy working there. The campground was clean and walking distance to the elk viewing area.

Great, calm campground with get hosts. Road to get to location is gravel and not the best but that is literally the only downside

From I-40 take Exit 20 in North Carolina. Turn right onto Cove Creek Road and follow to the Park boundary. The road goes from pavement to gravel to pavement. Upon reaching the pavement the second time, turn left. Go 2.5 miles to an intersection and continue another .5 miles to the left.
Cataloochee Campground is accessible via I-40, with Exit 20 providing the nearest access point. From the interstate, travelers can reach the campground by following Cove Creek Road to the park boundary.
