We had an amazing time at this campground! We rode our bikes a short distance to a meadow each morning and evening to watch the elk graze… it was magical!

Great place to stay, bathrooms were very clean and staff were very kind! There's a stream nearby to swim in, but beware of poison ivy! Super secluded campground, perfect to feel off the grid at.

Great place to winddown
Have been here now 5 times And I love it here .It's a Smaller campground and it is very peaceful. Had spot nr 1 this time, I normally try to get spot 5 (on the creek) but that was booked already. The host is Great and she Makes check out a breeze.
Cataloochee itself is very different after the Hurricane from 2 yrs ago. The Access Road to the back Was washed out and is not repaired yet. For me not a problem And I actually liked the peace and Quiet, but for older folks that might be a deal breaker.
Also the road from276 over the top is mostly gravel and can be a bit scary for some .
Anyway love it And I think for me It has taken out Cades Cove ( way to busy ) as my Fav hang out camp spot

I got soaked. My tent pole broke, but the tarp still repelled water. I rained most of the day and night. The campground was in good repair. The mountains were lovely albeit wet. The elk and turkeys cooperated and showed on time.

This is our second year camping in Cataloochee. We enjoy it very much. Saw lots of Elk. It rained most of the time so we spent time driving around and enjoying the area.
