Cataloochee Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with friendly hosts and abundant wildlife, including elk and bears. The area is well-maintained, featuring clean facilities and a lovely creek, making it ideal for photography and exploration. However, access can be challenging due to rough roads, and some sites may have issues with standing water and proximity to neighbors.

Nice, quiet campground. Everyone was very respectful- not surprising given that it's not in the busier areas of the park and so the people are hikers, wildlife viewers, etc. The middle sites are really on top of each other, so get one on the outside if possible. Bathrooms were very clean. Very spotty cell service, and Starlink connection is just okay given tree cover- that's good or bad depending on your perspective.

The campground is organized nicely for space at each site and number of sites. The person watching over the campground was very organized and personable.
