Park is quiet and our section B was very shady. Our site was mostly level, but dropped off on the back a bit. We did not use the showers, but bathroom clean, though desperately in need of a renovation. Road around campsites is very narrow, but site was plenty long for our 30 foot 5th wheel and truck.

I had a wonderful secluded campsite on the water. Everything was very quiet and peaceful during my stay. The check in attendant was very helpful and friendly. I look forward to going back next month and have booked the rest of the season at Bandits Roost.

Great campground hosts. Beautiful spot. Lake is so nice.
I wish there was more federal funding to do upkeep and repairs on this beautiful campground. Or maybe they could get volunteer groups to come in and do some maintenance work.

From Winston-Salem, North Carolina, take Highway 421 North (approximately 55 miles) to Exit 286B, turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 5 miles. Turn right onto Jess Walsh Road. Campground entrance is located at the end of the road.
From Charlotte, North Carolina, take I-77 North (approximately 60 miles) before merging onto Highway 421 North towards Wilkesboro/Boone. Continue to Exit 286B (approximately 20 miles), turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 5 miles. Turn right onto Jess Walsh Road. Campground entrance is located at the end of the road.
Travel times from:
Winston Salem: 1 hour.
Charlotte: 1.5 hours.
The campground is accessible via Highway 421, which is approximately 5 miles from Highway 268, and I-77 is also within reach, merging onto Highway 421 toward Wilkesboro/Boone.
