I had site 16 the upper of a double site but if was wonderful, I could still see the lake thru the trees! A short walk with the dog brought us to the point with nothing but water around you, it was stunning! A swimming area looked fun. Everyone I met was so friendly, I had a fabulous time, tried to book another weekend but alas all full!
I did get a spot at Fort Hamby, I hope it's as great of an experience as I had at Bandits. Loved it!

Bandits roost campground was so nice! Everything was easy. The campground was clean & quiet. Bathrooms & showers were clean. Workers were nice. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely plan to come back!

Had a nice 4 days at Bandits Roost. We were in 47A, 46A across the road looked a bit more level but 47 was nice and long.

From Winston-Salem, North Carolina, take Highway 421 North (approximately 55 miles) to Exit 286B, turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 5 miles. Turn right onto Jess Walsh Road. Campground entrance is located at the end of the road.
From Charlotte, North Carolina, take I-77 North (approximately 60 miles) before merging onto Highway 421 North towards Wilkesboro/Boone. Continue to Exit 286B (approximately 20 miles), turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 5 miles. Turn right onto Jess Walsh Road. Campground entrance is located at the end of the road.

Winston Salem: 1 hour.
Charlotte: 1.5 hours.
The campground is accessible via Highway 421, which is approximately 5 miles from Highway 268, and I-77 is also within reach, merging onto Highway 421 toward Wilkesboro/Boone.
